The main issue is that you're using Guardian armor and (likely) Defender weapons. That gear was designed with the purpose of skipping the base game so you can get to the expansion's content. If you want to enjoy the base game, get rid of that stuff and replace it with normal gear. You've been playing on super easy mode this whole time.
Its not hard, or at least idk if its hard cause i was given armor with 50 defense right from the start.
Does Rise look any better? Cause World looks reallllly washed out even with the HD pack installed.
Im honestly surprised that i like Dauntless more then i do MHW
But besides that, Rise is also very easy. I'd go so far as to say Rise's toughest monsters would roughly rate a 6/10 on World's difficulty scale. Rise is simply an easier game.
As for graphics, I'm not sure what to say. I personally find World's look just fine, and Rise is a downgrade in every regard no matter how objectively you look at it. You'll just have to mess with settings yourself, or maybe look towards mods to change the appearance. As for Rise, look at gameplay of it on YouTube and decide for yourself if you prefer that look or not.
God, i hope my weapons not endgame lmao. Its just some Iron pos that looks like something pulled out of the junk yard lol I thinks its a Defender piece.
Oh, and the tutorial is kinda trash as well. I may like it more if i could find other players to play with? last time i checked, 16k players were still playing MHW but im assuming they're all at the end game?
Not sure what to say about the tutorials. There's so many of them that people complain about there being too many, but also that they skip reading every one of them, and then further complain that the game taught them nothing. But if you can't find the information you're looking for in the handbook in the menus, then you can always check out ArekkzGaming on Youtube. He has guides on pretty much everything.
And for meeting other players, the majority are probably in the end-game and expansion content. If you want to find others to join you, I would recommend joining the Monster Hunter Gathering Hall Discord channel so you can set up LFG messages and talk with the other hunters there.
Monster Hunter games are kinda mental-demanding when it comes to combat, building and exploring.
The game is very repetitive, but all the Monster Hunter games are built upon the same formula. Kill monsters-->upgrade gear--> repeat.
As far as graphics go, I find MHW to be a great looking game. You may have to adjust your graphics settings, or your monitor to take full advantage. Its by far the best looking MH game yet.
If you've only made it to Zorah Magdoros, you still have a lot of very tough monsters to face, and theres also MH Iceborne, which is an expansion that adds a bunch of new content.
I personally find the game much more fun if you play in groups. It can be super boring playing solo.
It is exactly that.
As everyone else already said, drop the Defender Gear. Armor and Weapons. They were both designed so you can rush to the basegame without much effort, with no need to craft something else along the way.
I would actually advise you to just start with a new character, since you haven't gotten very far yet. Avoid the Defender Gear and look at the other armor pieces and weapons. You will most likely start to change them once in a while for better options, which means you will kill awesome looking bosses and use their materials to make (mostly) awesome looking gear.
Edit: Oh and also don't judge the game by the Magma Blob, cause he sucks. Plain and simple. But he is the only fight like that in the game.
If the loop of Hunt -> Craft -> Improve is boring to you, then just drop the series without any shame in admitting that it's not for you. Monster Hunter is a really grindy franchise with its roots in giving people something to play while commuting.
I dropped the game after 5 hours, just to come back to it months later with friend. Now i've been playing for about 2 years with no plans to stop.
What i found out is that, in order to enjoy the game, you need to learn it instead of just trying to go through it. I used to spend easily 10 hours after every new monster just on upgrading my set, and learning more thanks to it. You have to learn not only your weapon, but also builds, stats mechanics, monsters behavior etc and i can assure you, there's a lot interesting stuff to learn. It is very "heavy" game, meaning it requires a lot of investment and mental gymnastics, especially in learning phase. And by learning phase i mean basically whole of story with iceborne included as the whole story mode basically holds your hand. once you go past it, you can't decide what to do 'cause there's so much stuff in the endgame. If i was you, i would slow down, learn mechanics get to the end of story (game is pretty short anyway) and then decide if grinding and constant striving for optimized builds is something for you . I really hate it when people drop out quickly without realizing how addicting and satisfying the game can be.
Agreed.
he'll learn. they all do.
edit: oh, to answer the questions, if you find grind boring, thats understandable. MH:rise is actually easier than world, skill wise, but more of the same kind of gameplay, so if you dont like that gameplay, yeah no sweat and no shame saying its boring. we all have diff tastes, ofc.
