How long do you think they will keep the servers up?
FROM killing the servers for the Souls games has me shook, wondering how long until MHW is next, I have been waiting for a better sale hopefully by the time I get it the online is still available

so how long do you guys think the online will last? will they be shut down after MHW2 comes out like they did with MH3U?

They shouldn’t anytime soon lol I dont know why it would be a bother its p2p. Just disabling mp wouldn’t nake sense.

But the gane is playable solo. MP actually makes it hard doubling monster health or more. It’s often easier to solo once u get gud. 😹

The game has a unique system I didn't see (or learn about) in other games so far.

You see, the online system works as Peer to Server to Peer. Paired with the "every player has their own instance" as well, this lets the game equalize almost all latency.

If the server gets out of the equation, we probably wouldn't be able to connect to each other before they adjust it so that the game can be P2P instead of P2S2P.

PS: MH games rarely go down in terms of servers. Last time I heard about older games, they allmost all had their servers up save for like 2 of them (MH Online and one other, correct me if I'm wrong). So expect them to keep the servers up for the next few decades.

I read those are maintained by Nintendo so Capcom has nothing to do with it, they shutdown Tri on Wii very fast

is that different than or same as how previous MH games did it? good to know! my only experience was Tri and that was shut down prematurely it felt

I don't know, but I know how MHW works to an extent.

This system allows for everyone to not only play at reasonable percieved latency, it also lets players keep hunting after a disconnect.

Yes, and people like to use Tri shutting down as some sort of "the sky is falling" claim that capcom is going to shut down world immediately.

They're not going anywhere any time soon.

The Dark Souls servers were shut down because a serious exploit was found which allowed people to remotely execute code on your computer. They will be up again soon, if the recent statement to PCGamer is to be believed.

Monster Hunter Tri servers were a paid service in Japan. They also has 10 player lobbies. They all shut down about the same time. Don't forget that MHW runs on PSN, Xbox, and Steam. If one of them shut down the others would follow shortly.

Far as I know there's no massive security exploit in MHW.
Don't see it happening anytime soon.

OP. MHW+I is Capcom's best selling game of all time.

Enough said.

Uhm, No MH server hasnt been up cause they used gamespy for MH and Tri (Not Tri U not sure about this one) is down cause it used nintendo

And uhm, in the case of MHW, It relies on steam so unless steam's backend dies out (Which probally wont ever happen), it simply wont die out.. At least for PC. For ps4 on the other hand, different story as thats sony bound.

1. The servers won't be shut down at least within a few years.
2. Even if it does, there will still be some dedicated modding wizards to make miracles happen.

From software killed their servers because dark souls had a bug on the games that people can use your computer and steal stuff. Probably they dont know how to fix it
