Save data transfer
I had a save file that was very accomplished, and I'd like to continue playing on it. The problem, is that the save file is on someone else's steam account. Is there a way I could transfer, or copy the save data from their account, to mine?

There is a way to edit the ID of the save file which lets you use ANYONE'S save file like your own.

Hold on while I find the relevant link.,

I'm back. The ID Editor is this: https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/1913?tab=description

To find your own ID, I recommend using the non-functional Save Editor here which shows your ID (so you can copy and paste it over the other one): https://github.com/AsteriskAmpersand/MHW-Save-Editor

Instructions:

1. Download and launch the save editor.
2. From the top menus, click "File" and then "Open"
3. Choose the file that has the name "Savedata1000"
4. Double-click on the Steam ID (it will open a small window prompting you to change ID)
5. Ignore what it says, just hit CTRL + C
6. You now have your ID ready. You can paste it elsewhere in case you think you might lose it (by copying something else).

Now for the actual ID swapping:

1. Get the save file you want to use. Get the ID Editor.
2. Drag the save file on top of the ID Editor (which will make it say "Open With")
3. The command window that pops up will wait a little, then say "Current Steam ID: [ID OF THE SAVE YOU WANT TO USE] - New Steam ID:"
4. Paste your ID in and hit ENTER
5. The command window will just disappear after a few seconds
6. Now you can load that save file like your own

Optional step: Thank Mr. September :taloslol:
