Monster Hunter: World

Monster Hunter: World

MHW, RNG Record game for me.
As much as i love the game, i got to admit, it's the first game i see with thatmany RNG overlapping each others, to extend the game play. Been playing lots of game since early 80's, lots of MMOS/MMORPG, but MHW is the one i seen so far with so many RNG.

I Won't complain as i got lucky to have my two first Warrior streamstone for my main wepaon the Lance and two hero streamstone for my second weapan dual blades, after killing about 15 times or less Tempered elder dragons ( i even thing the warrior stone i found to unluck augment droepd on a threat 2 tempered), really lucky, ok, getting my second Nergy gem to augment my dual blades is a scond story, chances i will get a golden pattern before.

But yeah, RNG connecting to each other is so impressive. Grind footprint to get investigations for Elder Dragons, RNG starts with when ever it decide to give you the investigation, then, RNG to have one you wish for, we all have our favorite Elder we love to hunt, then, RNG to have mission you wish for, for my case, 15 mintues Investigaiton is tight on some dragons with my playstyle, Vaal i usualy clear a 15 minutes quest, at 14:26 or so, so real close to fail so wishing for 30 minutes¨+, then hoping to have one investigation with more than 1 faint, again RNG.

Then once you beat it, RNG again kicks in, to decide if you get a streamstone to give you Warrior or Hero, then RNG connects again to give you the weapon you wish for. Then, rinse and repeat to get all these back for a second augment on your weapon.

Not to mention decorations, same thing.

And all that at end game, knowing if i wanna get Iceborn, all these are pointless and useless, but since i play only Vanilla, these are pretty pointless as besides Behemouth or Kulve, al are rpetty much doable... so basicly i am masochist trying to get my 2-3 mains pweaons augment and armors.

But yeah so many RNG.

Last timne i seen that much RNG was in Elder Scroll online, clearing up Veteran Maelstrom arena, that you had to clear a 9 level (3 stages + boss fight for each levels) dugeon solo, hoping at the end the chest give you the weapon you wanted, the type you wanted (fire, frost, lightning or resto staves for exemple) than with the trait you wanted... again i got lucky in there, out of 100 runs i was able to pul out all wepaons i needed and traits i neede,d versus some players who ran it for over 500 times withotu getting what they wanted.

So yeah not complaining, but i admit developpers found a great way to make this gamre extend for long with short content when you stop and look at it. Not to mention, monsters, somany are copy pasted, poke Rathian and it'SD so many variant, with name or color changes.

But yeah i still am addicted to this freaking game :)

Probably the gameplay being fun.
There are so many ways to get gems just farm for them or if it bothers you enough then download mods to rigs the loot pools.

Its Monster Hunter not Monster Gimme.

Bah mopre likely in less than an hour bounties will reset with at least one bounty with golden pattern which i wild meld, and as per mods, they seem not to be working since Iceborn patch and not gonna try to add a mod and ending up having my save game corrupt as many had. I traded about 5 golden pattern passed few days, so i am not worried, i will have the gem more than soon, and i love to fight Nerggy so not much of a pain for me to grind him, still need some decos i haven't put my hands on, Ironwall and Guard Up are the two i am isisng so far, so no big deal grinding Nerggy,
Why would you spend so much time grinding vanilla and not just get Iceborne? Are you short on money?

If you enjoy the gameplay, why not get Iceborne?
If you hate the grind, why are you still playing?

Especially when the Iceborne Grinding Lands are at least more enjoyable than the awful vanilla investigation grinds.

Sorry I mixed up the terms, ignore my post. :P

But seriously, like I get it as I also ranked up to 50 the vanilla way and then started Iceborne but don't put yourself through vanilla min maxing. It sounds like you're going to regret doing it because Iceborne will undo it and if you do it long enough then you'll just start to resent it and that will pile up.

I'd say either get Iceborne or just quit and not stress about it.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about decorations and whatnot. It's a silly mechanic that isn't reliable to give you anything you really want. Instead, focus on the monster hunt and the exploration of the game. If you feel burnt out with that, then maybe it's time to just stop playing Monster Hunter for now, or maybe try a new one.

You could always use mods and get the items you want, it doesn't matter since it doesn't affect other players. If it feels unsatisfying, I recommend finding something that is.
i say this to everyone, but if you haven't tried Dragon's Dogma yet, I highly recommend that game.

Short on money? not at all, i just don't buy Iceborn because i don'T want to.
1- not sure iw anna get into the DLC, if i wanna spend money on otehr MH i will wait Rise to come out.

2- i already have enough of monsters being reused with Hue/Saturation color change with a color added or word added in front of the monster, so no need to resee them ebcause they wil be either called Gold Rathalos, Savage Deviljho etc...

3- not sure i will have the patience with more monmster with unfogiving one shot abilities or attack faster, which i already find absurd some monster defing logic of gravity etc... 4- hate teh fact that what ever you had a hard time to collect on Vanilla is quikcly obsolete in Iceborne. Or nbt even sure i'll be able to deal with those new monsters and sorta worried they pushed it more that you need to play with otehrs to succeed in IB

4- i do enjoy what i have now.

5- when ever i feel like i wanna get Iceborn i will get it.

6- Where did i said i hate grind, if i'd hate grind i wouldn't played the game more than 1 hour and asked a refund, i wouldn't be at 350 h at rank 74, if i'd hate grind i wouldn't had played ESO for 4-5 years, WoW 4-6 years, SWTOR 2-3 years, Conan Exiles for 1.5 year or so and so on.

7- people keep saying monster in IB have way much more HP, and hunt are longer, which also sorta makes me hesitate, some hunt takes enught time for me in vanilla, will i have the patience for longer fights, the longer they are, the more chance si end up doing a single mistake that end up skrewing up the hunt, i guess lack of focus and concentration at one point.

I simply said i was amazed how developpers in this game were able to add so much RNG over RNG over RNG to extend the time of playing, doesn'T stop the game to be fun as i said at the end, i am still addicted to the game, so more likely doesn't mean i hate the grind.

Maybe i'll end up getting IB one day, but for now, it sorta scares me.

i know all this, i just do it because I LOVE it and enjoy it, i usualy don't do stuff i don't enjoy, if i feel i wanna craft a hunting gear set because i love being able to, and track footprints with hunting skills or gathering skills well i just do it :) i totaly know it's pointless to grind these, but i don't care, not sure yet i i would even wanna jump already in a new set of wepaons, armors and new systems to learn in IB. I'll enjoy Vanilla, once Rise comes out, i'll see. I might grab IB but usualy my thrill is to get what the games allow me to get, even if useless, weapons can be augment, so why not enjoy the fact you can do it. That's me, lots of time money in game is useless, but what you want, i love being rich in games. After all, we all do in our games what we like no? Even though if sometiems some stuff gets us frustrated.

Nah i am not burnt, but won't use mods, nothing more than the thrill of looting what you expect for when you see it,m and for now, i love hunting elder dragons and otehr monsters, i try different sets of armors, weapons (yeah i'm stupid enough tot ry different stuff games offer and not go for the miss and mr builds people all copy on the net, makes it more challenging sometiems to have a weapon that deals less damage but has different status etc.. what is ht epoint of paying for a games that has 50 armor sets and as many different wepaon per each style and only aim for one.

Just not sure yet i wanna try IB some stuff i read makes me not sure about it. think i had this game for less than a month, so stil a bit far from getting bored but just afraid i am too casual for IB.
Dont wanna read that much but monster hunter is always about G rank. Low and high rank gameplay is not even near the game.
Iceborne makes gettin everything so mucch easier on top of being a really big expansion with lots of content to enjoy. If you enjoy the game id'say get iceborne because its gonna be a while until Rise is "complete" and even then it still a handheld game in the end and its likely just a filler game while we wait for MHW 2
Yeah the streamstone mechanics in thr base game were kinda bad, it slogged the game down. However, it promoted teamwork and communication since working with others would mean more investigations etc so you could easier get the one you needed if someone else posted it.

Iceborne fixed away with that in a way and added a more linear grind with the Guiding Lands. There is some more control there at least so you don't feel as powerless.'

But glad you liked the game, keep enjoying it your way.

Oh well, realised afetr i got my two wepaons i use augmented, and able to mostly all monster (haven'T tried Behemoth, Luestra or the one from the Witcher Cross over, so now i guess i will get bored fast if no reason to hunt. Since i just seen IB is on sale about -40% i might grab it, if i like good, if not too bad.

We'll see, worst case, i won't be able to beat these new monster and will return to Mario Cart games :P
I do not fancy rng... But I personally think that in mhw its kinda okeyish, especially since big hunt farming missions are SO easy to go pick and make.

Its really not that bad overall.

Deco farming is still ass tho
