Public Service Announcement: TAKE WIDE RANGE TO ALATREON FIGHT
And medicine up if you can spare it.

Then you can bring the health mist tool, and then you can heal through at-least two of his ultimates if everyone uses heals and has wide range during it.

You can heal through it just fine with health booster and astera jerky.

I'm actually not sure if Medicine Up affects your other targets with Wide Range. Pretty sure I looked it up and it's only affects your personal heals, not the ones shared via Wide Range.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure people tested this against the non-weakened version of Escaton Judgement and it does not work, even stacking the Health Boosters atop each other, right? Even if it does work, if you're going to co-ordinate your team build THIS MUCH you might as well just play the fight as intended.

That aside, I would like to propose a different PSA:

Take Wide Range to any fight where people are struggling.

A Wide-Range user who knows what they're doing is more valuable for survivability than almost anything else in the game. Even if nobody is going to cart necessarily without Wide-Range, a Wide-Range user can provide all the team's healing so they can get right back into the action after getting hit without having to back off, and the Wide Range user can stack skills like Speed Eating so it influences the team's uptime even less.

Especially team-conscious WR users should even bring buffing items that will assist the team's damage more directly.

It was tested by TDS that even with Health Booster and wide range, you cannot heal through the Escaton Judgement unless the timing by all 4 teammates is perfect.

All 4 cannot eat at the same time.

So, you can forget about this technique unless you have a team of trained individuals that practised this multiple times.

If however you are just talking about bring wide range to heal as a support when playing with people you are not sure knows the fight well enough yet then sure, that works. However, there's a limit to that.

If someone is going into the fight with equipment that will get them 1-hit or 2-hit all the time and they still don't know the monster's moves well enough, no amount of healing will help and you are just losing whatever damage skills or other utility skills to put in something for someone that might just leave mid-fight. Once you end up solo, wide range is effectively useless.

So, the safest is still just to bring dust of life or life powders and if you want, the materials to make more.

Recovery Up effects all healing you receive, be it from your own item, weapon, armour, or gadget effects, or someone else's. So you can even wind up in the amusing situation where if you have Recovery Up, and the person with Wide Range (5) doesn't, you will be healed more from their potion than they will.

With Fatalis armour it is very easy to fit in both attack skills and support skills.
1 WR healer healing everyone is more effective than 4 dps running around trying to heal themselves. Although it's only really worth it against Fatalis, Alatreon and the AT's.

No, bro, I think he's talking about healing OTHERS not oneself.
Rec Up= ONLY person who has it

Or you could just learn how to time your jerky's... it's embarrassing how many people still manage to die to a powered down Eschaton because they can't time their jerky (if you only powered it down once, eat it at the halfway mark)

Public Service Announcement: DON'T BRING DRAGON ELEMENT TO ALATREON
Seriously it's the worst element to bring, even water and thunder are better

I stopped playing as Mercy a very long time ago, so nope. I guess people now rely on meme wide range to carry them, be responsible of your own hp bar :mhwgood:.

Pretty much this.. Always rather confused to see people bringing health booster just for escaton.
Even using the jerky a bit early, let's say as your health hits around 2/3s, will leave you with enough HP to survive one that's only been powered down once. This is without any outside healing help. Feel you'd be better off running glider mantle and slotting in elemental gems to help hit the check.

Very much this .My first Alatreon kill was with Dragon element. The fight is SO much easier with any other element.

Or... ignore Wide Range and just use Astera Jerky and either a potion, or your healing augment if you're rolling melee.
Xilo The Odd Nov 5, 2020 @ 11:19pm
or, just get 3 elemental flinches and then laugh as you dont need any healing.
