The Monster WALL
we all have our fare share of hunts some are easy and some are hard.

but what i want to know and discuss with you guys are what was or were the early to mid game monster you encountered that possess as a wall to your progress or should i say that you got stuck with the longest time.

for me it was the first Diablos fight back when we had no defender armor, he obliterate me left right and center until i eventually manage to have a "lucky run" and got the win, and don't get me started with Black Diablos!! oh boy she was a feisty one back in the day.

i would like to know what were the monster you got hard stuck with

My first wall was Yian Kut-Ku. The very first game. I still remember the happiness of that first kill til today. It forced me to go from melee to LBG and I've never really changed my main since.

There was no wall for me in MHW base. There wasn't in Iceborne either. There were monsters that were harder than others but I was never stuck. The only thing I got stuck at for days is Fatalis.

Well first time meeting Barioth was kind of a wall, dude jumps around more than Ruiner Nergigante, attacks that cover bigger area and has a hip attack that is insanely fast compared to other monster that has similar attacks. Has a tailspin after doing an air attack that would most often get you.

Reason for him not being much of a problem later on is you actually have armour now but first time meeting him I would assume he took out a lot of people.

my first big wall was the tigrex back in monster hunter freedom unite, i was playing the gunlance and had no room for attacking enough, i was constantly being oppressed and had to block everything until death, then after checking his weakness, i decided to build a thunder long sword, everything went smoothly thanks to that weapon

My first wall was Gobul in MH: Tri, I was really incompetent and timed out frequently mostly because I wasted a lot of time searching around.
My first wall, in base game, was nergigante (I just had to stop and farm some things) and in Iceborne was Velkhana, again I had to stop and farm :cozybethesda:

powderstone quest in MH3U, got stuck for months, and got traumatized by the Uragaan.
G-rank double brachy urgent quest, also in 3U. the quest i failed the most in my entire MH career.

for world:

AT xeno, was the hardest hunt for me back in the day. hard to hit with DBs, and the 30min timer dosen't help. easely over 10 tries.
AT nerg, took me 5 tries.
Fatalis, took me around 7-9 tries.

Funnily enough, Qurupeco in MH3 was my first wall, cause I made full Jagras armor, which is super weak to fire. After killing Quru, I did okay up until Barioth, where I stopped playing.
In 3U tho, I was able to breeze through the game. It wasnt until Iceborne did I hit a wall again, which was, lo and behold, barioth. I did manage to kill him first try, but boy, was I have flashbacks to back when I was a kid.

Back in base game, my first wall was Nergigante but the biggest wall was Extreme Behemoth.

In Iceborne, my first wall was Barrioth and the biggest wall was Raging Brachydios.

To my knowledge I've only had 2 walls. I leveled MR in my endgame Gunlance build and my first wall was Velkhana. My build resisted the Ice Blight, but the walls she made around the zone really hindered my mobility. My second wall was Shara and it was the first monster I'd actually used an SoS for because I just couldn't get around him. Unfortunately, those joining me at the time of early Iceborne were just as bad as I was so I eventually had to solo it. I'd learned what worked, what didn't and finally learned how the Clutch Claw worked. Switched to my old HR Crit Draw Greatsword build and finally managed to beat it.

It wasn't until I reached the Guiding Lands that I made my first MR armor with the Zorra set to better my Gunlance playstyle.
