Is there other hidden feature?
I recently found out through a video that you can somewhat skip the hub lass animation when she picks up the quest book.(over 1000hrs played you can laugh)

Is there another thing like that in the game that doesn't tell you?

Torch Pod softens Lavasioth and blows away effluvia.

Puddle Pod washes off mud from Jura and Barroth.

Crystal Burst topples Uragaan while rolling.

You can mine Uragaan and Radobaan's back while they're down. Similarly, you can also capture bugs off Zinogre and Stygogre's backs if they fall down when they glow. They'll lose their charges.

Namielle takes more elemental damage when vibrant and more raw when dull. If you put Namielle to sleep while it's dull, it turns vibrant again.

Lunastra needs to charge up before nova. The charge slowly increases over time but can be decrease by tripping her. The move that significantly increases charges is the one when she just stands there and glow. It is imperative to interrupt that to decrease her charge.

Flashing Lunastra the first time after she's limping won't make her explode.

Waking the monster with Clutch Claw will allow you to wall bang the monster regardless of rage status.

You can choke Kulve Taroth with a pod when she stands on two legs and spew lava flow forward.

Elder Dragon's barrier on their bodies aren't actually barriers. They're armor multipliers that set your attacks to zero. Sticky and bombs and explosives bypass that. Fatalis invincibility during nova. Toaster's body barrier. Dora's wind. AT Vaal's. AT Namielle's black side of the wings. Lunastra and Velkhana's fire pools and ice walls are actual barriers though.

Dual Blades have built-in Flinch Free called Demon Mode.

If you mount Fatalis, you can rush the mounting process if your friend keep flinching it with Dragon Pods.

Insects break when killed with weapons and leave no husk to carve.

Insects don't break when killed with poison like Poison Smoke Bombs.

Poison Smoke Bombs can poison a monster without waking it up. If a monster is sleeping and you have Poison Smoke Bomb = free damage.

Without big hits, wall bang is usually the best way to wake a monster up. Free knock down + big damage + bombs + poison. It out-damage most attacks anyone use.

You can predict the direction the monster will go after it wakes up by looking at its SPINE, not head. The spine almost always aligns with the direction it will go. You can use this to your advantage by placing bombs in its path.

Hitting Tobi-Kadachi's tail while it's on a tree will make it crash to the ground and flail.

A pack of Giroses paralyze like champ. Leave them alive if you're fighting some monsters like Odogaron. Giroses will paralyze it like 2-3 times.

Rajang will always break Kirin's horn in Turf War.

You can fly up to the peak of Coral Highland using Glider Mantle. Take the air current behind Legiana's spawning well.

Pitfall traps only work on Nargacugar and Rajang when they're enraged.

Pitfall traps never work on Yian Garuga. It's too smart and will back-hop out of it immediately.

Shock Traps don't work on super-charged Rajang or Zinogre.

Shock Traps don't work on Yian Garuga when it's enraged.

Diablos and Black Diablos can destroy traps from below.

All traps work on a monster if you use them to wake it up. Tranq Bombing them before using traps will ensure your capture.

While the time you have to do it might depend on the monster, you can often get both a 2x damage wakeup attack and a wallbang on a sleeping, previously enraged monster. Ie. with Fatalis you have enough time to get both a strong waking up attack and a wallbang in before it enrages again.

also, using the clutch claw or slinger ammo on bugs is a much higher chance for them to leave a body too

I had an initial reply to this post typed out but decided against it because I didn't think I had that much new to say, but here goes:

  • Zinogre absorbs power from shock traps allowing it to enter its Charged State much faster. This can actually be useful, as Zinogre in its Charged State has much better hitzones.

  • If you leave Zinogre/Stygian Zinogre to its own devices, it will sometimes leave clusters of Fulgurbugs/Dracophage Bugs in the environment that can be caught with the Capture Net.

  • Certain Tempered Monsters actually have unique modifiers compared to their usual forms. As one example, Zinogre starts in its Charged State when tempered.

  • AT Vaal Hazak has a completely unique behaviour when it starts limping and reaches its lair again. It does a sweeping effluvia attack specifically to destroy some rocks on the wall of its lair that allow extra acid to pool around the arena, granting less room to move around. Vaal CAN accidentally do this in normal play while you're fighting it, but AT Vaal specifically does an attack just to open this up even if you're nowhere nearby.

  • In addition to the passive speed boost, the Assassin's Mantle also provides a temporary burst of speed if you crouch, then start sprinting from out of your crouch.

  • Some of Lunastra's passive DoT damage can be mitigated by drinking a Cool Drink.

  • During the 2nd phase of the Zorah Magdaros fight when you are forced to the barrier, there are actually methods to get back onto Zorah's back. The easiest is waiting for Zorah to do a claw swipe (ideally negate the shockwave by superman diving) and then walking across its arm while it's recovering. If you climb up Zorah's back to reach its neck after this, you can attack it quite easily making a no siege equipment Zorah run extremely feasible.

  • Before Iceborne, only a select group of weapons were capable of mounting without environmental assistance: Insect Glaive, Sword & Shield, Lance (you can jump while charging forward), and Bow (while dashing, press R to do a jumping stab. this counts as an aerial attack and thus can mount). Hammer and I think Great Sword are also capable of launching allies upwards and thus getting mounts co-operatively that way. However, with Iceborne, any weapon can now mount without environmental assistance if you combine the Clutch Claw and the Glider Mantle. Just claw, then let go and the Glider Mantle gives you the leeway you need to do an aerial attack.

  • Most monsters have variations on their theme depending on the situation. The most secretive of these most people don't know about is the "chased" theme that plays specifically if a monster is enraged and you're running away from them into a different zone. Rajang's in particular is a banger.

  • You can aim and fire your slinger while being downed, and this is actually the way you're supposed to escape many monster's pin attacks like Rajang and Deviljho's.

  • Kushala Daora's tornadoes have rare variations depending on their surrounding environment. If it creates a tornado over a lava pool, it will be a flaming tornado- And if it creates a tornado in the presence of Lunastra's blue fire pools, it will be a blue flaming tornado.

  • Deviljho similarly has an environmentally dependent attack. Keep your distance from it and it will throw a rock (pretty sure Savage removes this attack). If you're in a location like Jyuratodus' swamp, the rock will be watery and inflict Waterblight. If you're in the gore nests of the Rotten Vale, the rock will instead be a pile of rotting meat and can inflict effluvium taint.

  • Mantles don't lose durability while you're standing still.

The Dual Blades Demon Mode has build in Flinch Free 3 and Windproof 5.

The Dual Blades Archdemon Mode Demon Flurry and Demon Flurry Rush also have FF3 and WP5 aswell as Mind's Eye.

Beware as WP5 won't protect you against Kush Wind. Only her armor set bonus skill can do that for you.

Actually, extra fun fact: Pretty sure the Hunting Horn "All Wind Pressure Negated" buff is another source of Kushala wind shield immunity.

True you are correct! My bad how could I totally forget about this especially when one of my best hunting comrads is a HH main pro and used that HH song so many times for us against Kush. Shame on me! :steamfacepalm:

Holding down RB/R1, speeds up the animation, when talking to the hub lasses and the handler.
