Focus Camera
Who else uses or prefers focus camera other than I?? I find it easier to dodge monsters and more able to tell when they're gonna attack and which one they're gonna use. My weapon of choice is IG and sometimes the SA. Just would like to hear if others do the same.

my friend uses it, but I prefer having more control.

I used it at first, but then got incredibly disoriented with fast monsters like odogaron and stop using it completely.

Full manual. Don't even touch the focus button at all. I like to be in control of the camera at all times.

Thank you guys for your feedback, anyone else?

I'm used to target cam from older games, so I use that.

I use full manual.

Lock on is a very bad choice for this game because you will not be able to see behind you when needed.

Personally, I never use focus camera. In a game like Dark Souls being able to stay oriented towards my targets is really handy, but in Monster Hunter what direction I'm facing (and by extension what direction I'm gonna be in when I press what button, which means the camera orientation) needs stricter control.
i use the one where you click it and it centers on the monster, only horizontally (not vertically)
the main reason for this is i use controller and some monsters just move faster than the camera. less work, you see?

Blackbird, can I call you black brid? Isn't there a way focus camera can be subject only to horizontal and not vertically?

I just got home so I'll have a look see and see what I find.

I got used to target cam in the older games so I use that with a controller. If I'm using M+KB I don't use either, I find it hurts more than it helps there. That said, focus cam is really nice if you really need to pay attention to a monster, so it's nice for learning movesets and guard pointing charges

Melee user here, I found using the lock cam to be a horrible experience, since the monster and the camera keeps moving around therefore dictates&keeps switching my movement button.

I 100% agree as far as focus camera goes. I've noticed also that my DPS has gone up just because I'm able to hit the monster more unless they dash far from me then I close the gap with air attacks. IG is so fun to use in this game and I've never really got tuned with any other weapon, but with focus camera I've noticed a difference in how I hit. I tried SA with it and SA is something I've never gotten used to so I just leave it tbh. I also play with controller if that helps anyone.
