Do guiding land levels still go down after maxing out one area?
So I've maxed out the volcanic area, and I was wondering if the levels in the volcanic area will drop if i try to work on say, the desert area.

If you have no other free zone points, then the game will automatically pull points from a random zone if you start leveling another.

There's actually a slight detail to this which is good for tweaking your zone levels: The game will NOT de-level a zone from interactions with a monster that can inhabit that zone.

Eg. If you hunt a Rathalos to level the Volcanic region, the game will never take points from the Forest region in response to that because Rathalos can inhabit the forest region. This is why monsters that can appear in any region like Ruiner or Savage Jho will never take progress from other zones for hunting them.

Unless you have fixed your regions, the levels will continue to randomly drop regardless if the region is maxed or not.

Just to add: You can actually max out every area. Its a TON of grinding, but you get a little bit of total exp for every monster(possibly just tier 3/elder dragon?) you kill.

Or rajang. I figured this one out yesterday cuz I was collecting rajang tracks. He leaves a lot of them.

I'm surprised that this isn't coming with the Safi solo update, I would argue being able to get all regions to lvl 7 takes a higher priority than that.
