The only pro about the movie is that it features Gore Magala, who is reasonably the only monster from the MH universe that could actually pose a threat to our world. This looks like the most effort they'd put into the lore of MH as the rest is hot garbage no fan asked for nor wants. Part of me really wished all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the army was to throw us off of the actual plot and by god I'm still praying for that prank call.

Also, why the ♥♥♥♥ would they think anyone could take Milla Jovovich seriously as anyone in a commanding position in the army? They could have at least made this scrawny bird look the part, maybe use some of that CGI to make her not look like the poster child of the Daily Anorexic. Just seeing her in a military uniform reminds me of the Coal Miner scene from Zoolander.

I honestly don't think it'll do well, do I want to be proven wrong? Oh for sure. Though since they ruined the Resident Evil movies, I don't think it'll happen. Don't get me wrong, they have some good actors in it but I don't know. Good actors can only do some much.

I'll stick with the games and enjoy them.

Should be fully animated, Preferably actual anime, could do with CGI, but it can not work as life action due to MH physics.

Na dude, live action could happen, but this very director can't create a good watch if he had a billion dollar budget. We've seen way more gravity defying stuff on big screen, Monster Hunter wouldn't be an issue. But for that you'd actually need decent actors and a decent script.

I however don't welcome a Monster Hunter anime, kinda stupid when the imagery devs are creating is coming from imaginative realism. Anime would never work because they'd need to dumb down 90% of the designs.

There is actually a Monster Hunter manga and it's not that bad if I remember correctly.

Anime is just manga in video form.

Let me remind y'all that this is the same director who cast his own wife as the self-insert protag of yet another capcom franchise: Resident Evil, only for her to upstage Jill valentine, stealing her action scenes as the titular character "Alice." Milla Jovovich is not a good actress at all, she just stars in bastardizations of Capcom franchises

This director also contradicts source material for a quick buck and dumbs everything down and/or blatantly ignores any canon story building/lore the series had to offer

"it takes a monster" go ♥♥♥♥ yourself with that schlock, the commission and pretty much every bit of source material has said hunters will only kill in situations where it's absolutely mandatory, opting to cap (or drive monsters away in the case of elder dragons) in most if not all cases.

I cannot wait to pirate this trash fire just to be justified in saying I still paid too much to see it.

I do feel like the international trailer looks better than the US trailer, it shows more character, weapons and doesn't spoil a (maybe) important monster in the movie.

Marines with MH, when I saw that I downvoted. There's no sense in that choice and it's trashy. Monsters looks cool and environments looks nice, but I wonder why they just didn't make a movie on MH using its characters and lore instead of going with an idiotic crossover that is worth a B movie.

I read the topic title and assumed it was going to be terrible like video game movies always are.

After watching the trailer though... if they can come up with a decent but simple story this could be a good action film. It needs the kind of story that is just there to give a reason to be in this area with the monsters, not some convoluted intricate plot, just give me a simple action movie and this has potential.
