Physical and elemental I guess. The wiki says that the "miasma" Vaal uses is elemental.

Not water I tested that... vaal has it's own unique element... but blight resist will nullify the halfed hp

Funny. The water mantle cuts down the mouth laser damage.

Effluvium is not an element, it's a blight.
His hyperbeam is a water attack, the rest of his attacks are physical.

yeah, going for water defense over a single very easy to dodge move would be a huge waste

just upgrade your armor and take 3 miasma jewels so you don't get your HP reduced and you're go

Or just get Immunity mantle and nullberries (for mantle's downtime), then have HP augment + all the rambo DEE PEE ES skills to make Vaal flinch like crazy, rendering the aura disabled until it rages again

yeah, but if you ride it's nuts it almost never uses the miasma beam attack so...

I have 450+ hours and never bother with elemental resistances, if you bothered losing hp because of miasma , get it resistancex3 but even then you will get slapped and lose half hp now and then, it wont prevent THAT one. When he walks from main lair, using 1st cave boulders (two of them) to drop into it and cause massive damage + knockdown, and in general hugging its chest from side, hitting, and each time he howls (while being all-fours) just be next to his head to avoid cancer beam, and choosing to fight in a spot with no miasma around, Vaal is as easy as a puppy (less berserk than Nerg for example).

Or simple get rathbuster(lbg) for a easy game play. You dont need to enter his debuff to attack him.

The only time I've ever bothered with elemental resistances is Tempered Kirin. Where some hits still 1shot you at 33 thunder resist lol

I usually just go with blight resist... I can normally survive anything unless I'm blighted before I take a big elemental attack.
