My palico gadget is not showing at my menu bar.

Why? I remember that you could select in the quick menu bar to use + you can see the time required to use. Does it unlock later in the story? I'm at the quest where i need to go to the ravine.

It's as your Palico levels up their Gadget Proficiency (which you get just by hunting with your palico with that gadget equipped) that you gain the ability to select it in the inventory for manual use.
