Tips/Good armor sets for Heavy Bowgun?

Hello :) I was wondering if you guys had any good tips about the Heavy Bowgun as well as any good armor sets you may be using. Thank you!

IDK much, but hands down the best non-Iceborne HBG is Glutton, obtained from Kulve Taroth; in Iceborne, the Zinogre HBG is best in show, and the Safi HBG can be upgraded to be stronger than Zinogre's

Don't have that one yet. Dang it xD guess I know what I am going to go for all day lol. I wonder how low of a chance it is to get.

Well Kulve has like 300 different weapons you can get from RNG; it's a rare 8 weapon, so if you can do perfect runs of Kulve and max out her bonus boxes, it increases your chance; at this point in MH, theres no shame in cheating in Glutton

I’ve fought her a ton of times before trying to get a Kajarr Ice Charge Blade. Never got it sadly. I have tons of weapons from it though. Is it completely RNG though or do some have higher chances? I’ve gotten Kajarr duel blades 3 times and all 3 are ice. I’ve never gotten anything else. I’ve had similar luck with a couple other weapons.

Basically, theres a few hidden tasks you can complete that give you a better chance at higher rarity loot, aka Rainbow Boxes

Kjarr stuff is only from the rainbow/blue reward boxes you get for completing a Siege in its entirety (breaking everything, invoking fury, etc). Glutton is a rarity 7, so I want to say it has a slightly higher drop rate than a rarity 8, but the pool is so large I don't think it matters either way.

these are considered the top craftable / kulve bowguns for each ammo type. glutton is the busted spread hbg but not required especially considering if you plan to jump into iceborne. considering how long people have went after kulve without getting the weapons they want i would put that last on the list of things to collect.

the zinogre hbg is available after the story. until then the craftable gear should hold you over without much trouble. collecting the armor would be a good choice (mostly just grab some xeno gear for spare shot). it will get swapped out about half way through the story for (true spare shot) but its just a set bonus you really shouldn't ignore with how much health even early MR monsters have.

Zin is from the afterstory, Stygian is Update 2, with Safi coming like a week later.

I think most people use xeno gamma set using the arms, waist and legs. Nerg helm alpha and Nerg gamma chest is also a solid choice. Then just try to fit in you other skills.
