My friend cannot get the Odogaron to grab the legiana corpse for plunderblade

I already have the blade, and he's new and would like it aswell, he has all the previous ones, has talked to the researcher, has had the corpse spawn, and odo spawn, he waited in the solo expedition so long that the odo managed to despawn and respawn 3 times, never once did it go for the legiana corpse.
Does looting the legiana make odo not interested?

Wait for the researcher to spawn in Rotten Vale, go talk to him then sit there for a couple minutes. Odogaron should eventually come with the Legiana corpse. Right after that the sequence with the grymalkine will trigger.

look on the map on expedition, it tells you what monsters are in on each map and what gathering point is flourishing and the person that's going to be in the map. just enter and exit if the researcher isn't there in the map. doesn't matter which map you pick each time you travel to a place the map monsters/gather point/person changes.

I've never needed to bother with all that for that side mission and I've done it twice, on different characters. You just need to find the cat that spawns at the Odo den area and follow it and then drop raw meat for it.

Lycinian Researcher (or whatever he's called) has to be in Rotten Vale first. It says on the map before you even go there. If he's not there, you're wasting your time. Then go there. Talk to him. Then go kill Radobaan or something and come back. It will be there. Simple.

I never did the legiana part of this quest. On ps4 or PC. I know its listed as something you need to do, but i've been able to just go to where the grymalkine is and put the food down.

He was there, when i did it myself however, i didnt need the researcher, in any case, didn't help, he waited for 50 minutes and odo despawned several times never grabbing the corpse.

I never seen Odo dragging corpse to nest, googled where to find cats and putted raw meat for it.

Has your friend befirended all of the previous tribes?

I'm pretty sure you have to do them in order.

If he has the four prior ones, it might just be as simple as needing to talk to the lynean researcher in astera or something... I never saw odogoron dragging the corpse myself, although he may have done so... I just went on an expedition and found the plunderers.

You don't have to stay near the Legiana corpse... you have to stay where the researcher is. That's where he brings the corpse and where the Grymalkine spawns.

Kill the small giros before odogaron arrives to the location, worked for me. He seems to ignore the corpse when the giros are around.

He's gotten the 3 before plunder, galajaka is out of the question as it requires the previous 4, he has talked to the researcher, he has had the corpse spawn and odogaron on the same map, and the odogaron litteraly ignores the corpse, just walks past it, doesnt matter if he trails it and follows it, or sits in his den for 45 minutes, because that's what he did, and nothing worked, we're on session 3 of trying to get him it
its been a total of about 5 hours of work.

He tried that, he tried following, he's tried everything, spent 5 hours on it by now.

Well, just keep checking if the lynian researcher is on the map, then go on expedition.

He'll be in the odogaron lair. You just sit there with the researcher guy for 5 minutes or something, and by then Odo should crawl in with the Legania corpse. After which the the Plunderer should spawn.

If that all doesn't happen, I dunno, just keep doing some more main quests and try again later?
