Insect glaive how?
so i have played almost all the weapons and have a great idea on how to move with each one of em, Except the insect glaive!!
no fking clue what does the bar mean, the numbers 1,2,3, or the small icon to the right of the numbers that change its colors between (red, white) full red, full white orange and some other stuff i dont know about. today after searching i learned that the icons to the left means damage and stamina buff after u send and recieve.
i used to use it without any of the numbers active which make it pointless, just learned that if the numbers were lit the whole combos change lol.
someone tell wtf does each mean and how to activate whatsoever

Red buff is earned via the Kinsect attacking bits of the monster used for aggressiveness (usually the jaws) and dramatically extends all attack combos.

White buff is earned via the Kinsect attacking bits of the monster used for mobility (usually wings/legs) and increases your aerial mobility.

Orange buff is earned via the Kinsect attacking bits of the monster used for defense (usually thighs, bellies, plates, etc) and increases your defense + contributes to buffs like Flinch Free.

Usually your priority is red, then white, then orange. Each buff also increases your total damage by a small amount, so earning all three is a good objective to go for when you start out in a fight.

It's also worth noting that once you're done with that, your Kinsect is good for much more than buff collecting. Placing a kinsect marker on a monster (you can press Ctrl while aiming to shoot one, some other Ctrl attacks also allow you to work markers into combos) will send your Kinsect out to repeatedly attack that part of the monster and create Dust while doing it. The Dust can be attacked to trigger some effect depending on the Kinsect, like an explosion or a healing effect.

Your Kinsect also has its own stamina meter you can see on the HUD, so calling it back to stop it getting tired out helps. If you need to recover Kinsect stamina fast, repeatedly sending your Kinsect out then recalling it causes a big chunk of Stamina to immediately refill each time.

Iceborne owners can also feed their Kinsect slinger ammo. Doing this will always give your Kinsect an extra "slot" to store buffs it can extract from monsters and bring back to you, so if you've fed it, you can send it to hit the horns, then the wings, and it'll give you both Red and White buff when it returns. Regular slinger ammo (eg. Stones, brightmoss, puddle pods...) will also cause the Kinsect to gain additional max stamina, while monster slinger ammo (thorn, piercing, bomb, dragon...) will cause the Kinsect to deal more damage.

For most IG users, Kinsect management is as easy as grabbing their buffs when they run out then fighting the monster as normal. The best IG users work Kinsect management into their combos so they can get a nice extra source of damage while they're pretending to be Darth Maul.

I know for controller, u press LT(?) and Y to send the kinsect out to different monster body parts. Commonly, the head is red buff, the body/tail is orange and the legs is white
To call kinsect back, LT + B

Red (1) is power buff that makes your moveset not terrible and is basically mandatory, white (2) is movement speed, orange (3) is a weaker flinch free that's good for multiplayer and for Luna so her wind doesn't flinch you out of attacks. Each extract lasts a set amount of time and can be refreshed UNLESS you triple buffes (have all 3 active at once), which makes it last a set amount of time with no option to refresh it. Red + white extract gives a damage buff, adding orange makes that buff stronger but isn't as significant as just red+white.

For solo, I usually just go for red+white so I can refresh buffs and ignore orange unless I have a spirit and strength glaive, then I just triple buff for the small damage boost.
