Alatreon Data
So, I attempted Alatreon with some trusted friends. We attempted twice, got our asses handed to us both times, purely because once his ultimate was used, everyone died instantly. Team Wipe. Not fun.

One of the attempts, we managed to breakthrough the threshold that severely weakened his ultimate. We still don't know what exactly that threshold was nor how to best break it.

I then did some solo testing against him and was able to discover a bunch of quirks to the fight itself. Feel free to add any extra information you find and test reliably.

Alatreon's Ultimate, if the threshold is not met, will do enough damage to destroy everyone. It's chip damage as opposed to a one shot like other monsters. We attempted to tank through the damage with 4 Health Boosters clustered together and Rocksteady Mantles. To no avail. This is because of a key factor the Ultimate has.

- It ignores Defense and Element Resistance.

I tested this with the basic armor for fighting, and again with armor that had 1680 Defense and 50 Fire, 40 Ice and Dragon. In both instances, the damage was the same. Essentially, if you don't meet the threshold, everyone dies.

- Farcasters are disabled completely.

If you haven't already noticed, you are completely unable to use Farcasters at any time during the fight. I believe this to be entirely a glitch or bug. It's also possible this was intentional. If so, f@*& you, Capcom.

- Alatreon will pop his ultimate every 6 minutes consistently

Whether you do no damage or whether you do a ton of damage, he will, no matter what, use his ultimate around the 6 minute mark, then again at the 12 minute, 18 minute, and so on.

- Each elemental attack has caveats

He mainly uses fire and ice and lightning in his attacks. Most prominently, Fire Bombs, Fire Beam, Fire AOE Breath, Ice Beam, Ice AOE Breath. The lightning damage only comes from the wide strike clusters or the random field bolts. Wide strike cluster is targeted, field bolts are completely random. Water is an element he rarely pulls out. Dragon only comes out in an AOE blast centered on him. This means that Dragonblight is pretty rare in this fight, as is Waterblight. This can be useful and means you don't need to invest in Water or Dragon resist.

- He can be Flinch Shot from the sky and brought down

Though how you can do this sucks balls. Because of how much he flails about, and because him so much as moving will make his entire body become a hitbox, its next to impossible without Temporal or Rocksteady. But it can be used as valuable down time to hit him a bunch.

Conclusion: I think the best approach is to solo Alatreon. He doesn't have as much health as in groups, the threshold is smaller, but most of all, you have to use Faints as a currency. Deal enough damage here, Alatreon Ultimate, faint. Rinse and Repeat. With Insurance and Safeguard (both of which stack independently) you can get 5 faints before GG. Your best bet is to disregard Defense and Element Resist (for the most part) and focus almost entirely on damage.

The issue I've been finding in 4P is that the DPS threshold is really high. If one or two people aren't aggressive enough, that's a wipe.

Fight may be entirely bugged as well, as the map shows 3 location stages for the fight, yet I was able to get him down to half health and he refused to change location. Might be why Farcaster is bugged as well

pretty sure farcaster part is intentional.

The map shows 3 location stages because it's Safi's lair map, just like how for example AT Xeno never touches the first part of its lair.

The game also tells you in the quest board tutorial for Alatreon that Farcasters are totally useless.

Did not notice the bit in the quest board about Farcasters, thanks for the correction

Only damage to the horns and wings will prevent Alatreon's Ultimate from destroying everyone. Limbs and tail do nothing

My apologies, turns out this was false. Did a run where I damaged nothing but the limbs and tail. broke the threshold, weakened the ultimate.

God, there is so much about this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I can't wrap my head around
