As a hammer main I like the claw cuz I can reach flying mons easier now (and kirins head) , I hear other weapons don't dig it so much.
I found this speedrun video that used the impact mantle to land a cheeky KO while trapping the monster. The dude also got lucky when the Gajalakas helped him too. You don't really need to copy the exact speedrun but just incorporate some things like the impact mantle on DB. You prolly don't even need the exact build he has since you're not really speedrunning but traps with Impact Mantle is something that can work for all weapons I guess to get chain CCs.
I'm a GS main so I just power through with raw damage hahaha.
Just try watching some speedruns and see if you can pick up a new move or two from them.
and as a DB main, i agree this guy is annoying, but poison mitigates him a lot.
also barioth is worse IMO.
Fair enough. But you suck for just writing this instead of giving some helpful tips; why do you think I am asking?
And I did beat the thing on my first try, but I don't want to keep running after it again for 40 minutes next time I encounter it.
Thanks very much. Will try that next time. I actually just crafted the Rath DB yesterday.
Thanks to all for the tipps, esspecially the poison one.
you can still sometimes get actually helpfull advice.
But yeah, Shrieking is an annoying af fight. Just beat it once however you can and never fight it again since it doesn't drop anything remotely useful.
Try to make sure you wallbang them twice between enrages if you can. It's nice damage and also an opening. Also, while in MR it's often much harder, do try to break those wings when they are down and remember flashpods. Even if they build resistance from time to time you can drop them down with it.
If you don't have a way to get them on the ground at times than hit whatever you can. The dangling tail or their feet. While not big targets, nor weak points at times, you can still put in some damage. Better than just running around waiting for them to land.
Use traps often. When they are on the ground try to extend their stay. Put a trap on them as they try to get up from a KO or drop them straight on one when you flash them.
Did I mention to break their wings? Well... break their wings.
