Skip to about 7:56 minutes in, that's when the interviewer asks if Iceborne will be the final expansion for World, and it is confirmed it will be.
When we have a bunch of games that get updated for years if not decades, it's easy for the average consumer to assume Capcom could just keep updating MHW for years and years, but they WILL move on to a 6th generation, they've probably already started on prototyping/concept art/design, and it's pretty important that they do, for reasons like:
We're also pretty close to the final update as they said iceborne would get support for one year
I just want to fight Fatalis, MH boomers make such a big deal of it that I want to know what the hype is all about. Hopefully World: 2 (or whatever it's called) will add real servers, I'm tired of always having to join discord to play with others.
Fatalis is only well known because of lore and the fact he was the first final boss of the series. (and the first black dragon). most people agree on the fact that he wasn't a very fun or interesting fight.
and Iceborne will probably completly ruin it's difficulty. (also Fatalis is pretty much garanted now)
No I rather have quality instead of a rushed product with an outdated engine.
Don't get your hopes up. Fatalis is an incredibly boring and monotonous fight. Unless they revamp the entire fight, you will be incredibly disappointed.
No rushing. They can use or improve the engine so they can spend more time on biomes and monsters.
Look at the Metro games. Same engine but improvements per each game.
