A lot of people was hoping for Gore Magala but this one is kinda leaked a few years ago so I don't think it's surprising tbh

But at least they finally put Safi's Secluded Valley to good use

I don´t dislike the decision that Alatreon is going to be added i just hope they put alot more Monster into the Game before MHW2 or something like this is going to be announced.

Fatlis will probably be the last update and Lagiacrus... he dosen't work with World engine, he is a T2 and adding a T2 at that point would be stupid, and Lagiacrus without water combat? no.

Lagi ain't happening. Best chance for him is in a new World-like game.

Fatalis I can see being the final free monster update.

Alatreon is bad choice because he was lowkey expecting Fatalis or Lagiacrus.

Alatreon, if done right, can be a jaw dropping fight, i mean a monster on safi's level if not higher that can use multiples elements in glorious HD, yes please.

I was expecting Fatalis but Alatreon was already planned for base MHW's update schedule and is less ambitious technology wise (what with Fatalis using a long neck they apparently have trouble animating in the new engine).

Alatreon's definitely a fan favourite too, pretty much everyone agrees his fight is the best Black Dragon in the series and it's got a lot of potential in World to be tweaked and made even better.
