How to prevent safi from nuking without rocks

This is an indicator that you didn't damage him enough during this phase.
He'll do a sweeping beam attack that hits the ceiling, which causes the rocks to fall to the ground.
If he hasn't been damaged enough beforehand he'll simply do the sapphire star move right away and nuke the entire team.
You can survive the blast by using a farcaster, though it's unlikely that everyone manages to use them in time.

I hope this answers your question!

flash before he breaths fire to the ground

No I tried farcasting. The use is disabled. I guess its just a forced ending type of thing.

Yep. Unless you had saved a flash for that specific moment you're SOL.

From my understanding Safi is triggered to use the attack that creates more rocks when a certain damage threshold is met. If your team doesn't reach consistent DPS checks in the final phase Safi will just wipe the team.

If in Phase 3, someone needs to have enmity/aggro, otherwise he will spam nuke. You can try flashing him down, then flinch shot to gain aggro.

Ah I thought that was still a possibility. Then it's simply a means to end the run if the dps wasn't high enough. It could also be related to the amount of staggers done or whether or not he's been aggroed a lot.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's not a DPS check. Safi'jiiva will always do an attack in which they shoot their laser at the ceiling first. If you flinch them during that animation, and before rocks start falling, they won't drop any rocks!

Huh never actually encountered this but you can flash it or if timing is amazing, get a part break in midair to drop safi down.

indeed. i actually made this happen once, some people took notice and farcaster'd right away, but we were still 2 deaths remaining and the 3rd guy didnt pick up on this happening.

its a bit of a learning process but its possible to avoid that BS. a simple fix would be to make that attack animation from start to finish unflinching.

And most people ignores the existence of that explosive geyser.

Sometimes it doesnt follow me after 2 anf using his range attack all the time. Other people who got red line doesnt even know explosive areas exist.

Over commiting CC to Safi can prevent him from using his breath attack to drop the rocks too.
Just sharing this Hope this can help :)
