Endless scrolling that wont stop

every time I alt tab or even switch from pad to keyboard or even just to type in a ID so i can join a game i get trapped in an endlessly scrolling menu, how the hell do i fix this??

U should specify it a little bit more. The game keeps scrolling or on desktop?

Tried borderless windowed?
May i ask why u have to tab so often? Steam interface lets u chat.

when I say scrolling a good example is when im in game and the shortcut menu thas my potions and stuff doesnt stop scrolling like im holding down the button even tho im not, also it doesnt matter what I do, just switching from pad to keyboard in game causes this too

Sounds like a periphal bug. Any other gamepads connecteD? Tried reconnecting the gamepad while the bug occurs?

I can mildly remember something similiar at the very start when i got the game, but I cant remember it fully.

No others connected no and re-connecting doesnt stop it either, ugh, i cant play cause it keeps doing it over and over and over

it persists either way, touching my keyboard at all even when in main menu to join games messes it up completely

Do you play with both Keyboard+Mouse connected while playing with your gamepad and vise versa? Play with your gamepad in without your mouse and keyboard connected and then switch to see if it's one of your controllers/keyboard. If not then try verifying integrity of files.

I cant, the keyboard is part of the computer and cant be disconnected, its a laptop lol

Then try playing without your controller connected, if it persists without the controller connected then it might be one of your keys getting stuck inside. You could also try binding the scrolling key to a different key to see if that helps.

i had a similiar bug the would act like the B on my controlled was stuck and kept scrolling the items when i tryed to select them

in my case just doing left click and right click once fixed it tho

i had the same issue, finally worked out it was an hardware issue with the controller, bought new controller and everything was fine again

so I unplugged my controller to try and see if just using my keyboard would resolve the problem, no go, it just does the endless scrolling anyway, this is just great, game is literally unplayable for me cause of this

Did you try binding your scroll keys to a different key? Maybe one of your scroll keys are sticking.

That sort of thing is usually a variable control - such as a throttle control or something similar. It's not in the centre.

I finally fixed this bug. For me, I was hosting on my laptop and remote playing from my desktop. I plugged in a mouse to the laptop and that was the fix.

Other things I did before this:
1. disable the touchpad
2. laptop mouse settings - reduce scroll lines to 1
