If I uninstall MHW then reinstall, will I lose all my progress and saved data?
I need to try uninstalling it to see if it fixes a problem or not, and I'm too scared to uninstall because I'm worried if i do, I'll lose my 140 hours of progress !!! I've tried googling and I can't get a straight answer.

You shouldn't, because the game is supposed to use Steam cloud saves.

That being said, you could always copy and back up your actual save file just in case.

Steam sync should have you covered. Just in case, you should copy your save data before attempting a reinstall.

Save data is stored in steam cloud as well as your userdata directory. This is separate from the install directory.

Nope, you should be fine, i'v had to do it about 3 times due to mods i was messing around with, and reinstalling windows, Your saves will be fine, as they are not only saved in a different location but cloud saves will restore them.

I even installed the game on a different PC and both systems shared the exact same saves, No matter which one i used.

You're good to go ahead.

No. Even if you don't have cloud saves, there's a separated location for save files. You can back up those just in case.

If Steam Cloud Sync is enabled (it usually is by default) it should save your save file for your account.

You can always manually back up. In fact, you should do it even if you don't use mods/tools. You can never be too safe after all.
