If your problem if that it's flying then just think about how to get it down to the ground.
Also yeah, wait til you get to Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos.
???
Silverlos spends more time on the ground than standard/Azure and has largely reworked ground attacks. Silverlos spends time in the air mostly when it's in Hellfire mode IIRC.
Anyway, how to deal with Azurelos:
-KEEP FLASH PODS ON YOU, yes they are nerfed now, they still knock flying monsters out of the sky and blind them for the price of an inventory slot and that's still ridiculously good. Using a flash pod will help you keep azurelos on the ground for longer, which means more damage.
-Break the wings ASAP. Kind of a no-brainer of course but breaking the wings gives Azurelos a chance to fail whenever it tries to take to the sky, so do it. To get a chance to do it...
-Use your two Clutch Claw slinger bursts early to get damage opportunities in.
That's pretty much the summary. MR Azurelos is largely the same as HR Azurelos, the main difference is that Flash Pods aren't "get out of having to deal with flying monsters free" cards anymore, so if you end up letting an enraged, flash-resistant Azurelos take to the skies and bombard the hell out of you, you have to actually deal with the consequences of that mistake.
In Master Rank flash pod immunity means that missing a few really doesn't matter, as you almost certainly won't be getting three flash pod knockdowns anyway. If it's that big a deal bring Flashbugs to craft more on the go.
Anyway, missing is also something you can work on to stop doing too. Wait for him to do a predictable attack and flash that, instead of quickly switching and shooting blind, hoping he drops.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot about those things. You're right. So strangely enough Silverlos is actually more pleasant to fight than Azurelos due to the ground attacks -- all of which are actually fairly easy to avoid and punish comparatively.
Edit: Hecked up the quote.
Now I have to kill him with the Pink Rathian for the Evasion Mantle.
I hope I'll never meet him again.. I ALSO HOPE SILVER RATHALOS STUFF SUCKS ! ! !
I hate him more than Lunastra, atleast her OST is really good!
To bad, Silverlos is the best choice for a True Elemental Crit build (like a bow)
And there are way worse monster in the MonHun Franchise then Azure Rathalos
If he's not angry, slap him & use slinger burst to bring him down to any low terrain area, not high terrain
Speed running? Start counting his stun & wait for his large fireball, aim his head using GS or hammer & get your dunk
Dunk stun is ALOT longer than KO or wall slam
Also, stay below him ALOT & don't bring palico
Hope for his claw slam, let him fly again & dunk him then
Now, you get one flash tops guaranteed that you KNOW will get it out of the sky. After that, they stay airborne and you have to guage on whether or not your next one will have an effect at all.
Unless you flash once, and then wait for what seems like FOREVER until you can flash again to get some more damage in, you have to use other means like mounts, clutch claw, your highest arching attack, flinch shot or just gun them.
Seriously, flash bombs are garbage now, so stop saying "lol just bring flash pods guize XD" because that is no longer an option beyond the first because after the first one, once azure is airborne again, you are back to square one and can't use flashes effectively anymore.
And tempered? You may as well not even bother bringing flash bombs. No point.
I've started bringing glider mantle more recently now that I found out you can clutch claw, jump off and immediately go for an air attack on airborne monsters making mounting much more of a possibility. And glider mantle upgraded stays on for AGES so you can almost always get a mount.
