are palicos essentially slaves
do they have workers rights, wages, trade unions? a lot of their working conditions are very unsafe, they should fight for their rights!

Laws went down with the advanced civilization when the large monsters freed themselves from slavery.

They're like the House-Elves in harry-potter. They enjoy being slaves and LOVE hard work. Unlike the house-elves, they get lots of fresh air and the occasional cuddle.

Cats will be cats.

Tell it to them - they're the ones who don't acknowledge currency and other concepts that come with society bigger than their tribe.

We'll talk about "unsafe working conditions" AFTER we're done fighting this ludicrously powerful monster that's borderline a god in order to study its corpse in comparison with the hundreds of others worth I have in my item box, NOW GET BACK TO PLUNDERBLADING!

real talk, while most felynes do seem to work menial jobs they are seemingly paid for their services and treated as equals, despite liking being treated in a slightly pet-like manner some of the time. I like to think that the whole hunting obsession thing is pretty much a human trait and most felynes/wyverians are just happy to lead safe, paid for lives under the guild without having to risk any situations more dangerous than carrying heavy things or cooking hot soup, while a small handful of morons (us) are gleefully picking fights with the local deities

My way of thinking: Our palico partners are actually fighting for us to gain experience so they can become real Hunters like us, which explains a palico mode in MH4.

also the cats that pull us out of danger and cart us back to camp are paid the money we lost from our faints. Which is why it makes me feel better.

please, all we need are cats having an identity crisis and trying to dress up like a dog because nonesense
PouchCotato Feb 26, 2020 @ 10:14pm
i mean, when you faint and the cats save you, you lose a big chunk of the reward. thats because it goes to the palico's that pull the carts. palico's get danger pay.
Hare+Guu! Feb 26, 2020 @ 10:21pm
I wouldn't want slave cat paws on my food. Palico are smart enough that they're only missing the physical ability to talk, so they're probably smart enough to think of revenge if they were being treated poorly. So they probably treat them very well for them to be trusted enough to handle food.

Just imagine them going to ♥♥♥♥ in their litters and then cook your food leaving their poop hairs in your dish. And then whole village going sick and main admiral-commisioner laying with green face on his bed tilting his head to see them cooking and his mind like starting to connect the dots and his last words - "Cat's ♥♥♥♥ in food..." meeahhhh* *dead*. That concept can't leave my mind.
