Roar practice
Nothing in depth or groundbreaking, but if people are having trouble picking a monster to practice dodging roars on, try Zinogre.

A+ practice buddy

I'm usually good when it's only one monster, but roar-dodging two becomes too much for me xD Most often I'm not even out of dodge 1 when roar 2 staggers me.

Zinogre can be a good one because he has a lot of predictable roars but TBH dodging monster roars is kind of a thing you have to learn on a monster by monster basis because every roar is different.

I mostly advise that everyone always tries to roll through roars (or your equivalent depending on weapontype, like countering it with an LS), as you really don't have anything to lose, and once you do get the timing down it's a great feeling.

all of the roar timings are a bit different though. there are even a few different kinds of roars on a single monster.

all predictable if your paying attention. it just comes down to iframing it when it counts.

much more easy with evade window 3 or 5 because im old.

Of course, it is monster by monster, but getting that feeling of exactly when before the actual sound of a roar you can dodge is easier if you have someone consistent. It was hard for me to know what a successful one even looked like before finding ONE I could do correctly. Like "oh, that's what this looks and feels like when it works." Then, apply it by monster.

This, love evasion +5 on my comfy sets, roll roars without trying, roll through most attacks etc.

I mostly dodge roar based on the monster's movement f.e: Raths and legiana when they put their feet forward or Kush/teost/Luna when their front legs reach max height

I like narga as a practice buddy. Not only does it have a super drawn out, telegraphed roar, but it feels like all the attack hitboxes it has (except tail slam) are super short, so you can practice attack dodging too!

Back in MHFU when I first tried i-framing through stuff, Narga was how I learned lol

Keeping in mind some roars have longer durations and the i-frames don't allow you to dodge thorugh them unless you have evade window.

Yes, but there are some changes from base World. I'm sure Xeno's is still un-rollable, but Vaal's and Jho's are doable now.

Same for me I learned iframing seriously when I got to Iceborne, and Nargacuga was my favorite practice buddy. I love her design, her movesets, and most of all her battle theme.
With the BGM playing and you finish the run with no hits, is really great feeling

Roar practice with brute tigrex, as his only moves are roars :'D

earplug 5? anyone? haha just fit this

seriously, i often just add 2 evade window or move for convenient
Mr_Sound Feb 25, 2020 @ 8:53pm
Having evasion skill helps with extended iframes. Wearing evasion mantle lets you know when theres a successful dodge by flashing red. But the true 200 iq move is having earplugs 5.

Edit: my super comfy lazy hunting sets always have earplugs 5, hb3, sheath3 and divine blessing 3
