Guiding Lands (Luring Zinogre)
Quick disclaimer, I know there's probably a bunch of people who already know a lot about this, but I'm fairly new to the Guiding Lands having unlocked it only a few days ago. So, I apologize for being dumb, but despite my best efforts, I couldn't find the information I needed.

With that out of the way, I'm trying to figure out how to get more fanged wyvern progress in the guiding lands. I know how to summon Zinogre. I ended up luring it out once, but I was an idiot and thought all I needed to do was collect its tracks. I didn't realize I needed to fight it. I ended up leaving the expedition thinking something must be wrong only to find out later what I needed to do. Now I'm trying to get more fanged wyvern progress, but despite how many fanged wyverns I break parts off of, I'm not getting any progress for it. Is there something else I need to do? Lure another monster, keep breaking parts, some other random thing, or am I just screwed now?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the idiocy.

Which monster you get from track is completely random

You'll get more Lures randomly over time. Finding "Signs of a Turf War" gets guarenteed new special investigations/progress on current ones, and breaking parts is the most consistent way to get them (that, or mining Radobaan's back) but essentially everything you do in the GL has a chance of giving you Lure progress.

As a sidenote you don't have to break parts from Fanged Wyverns specifically for progress. Hunting the same type of monster does mean faster progress on Lures but all monsters contribute somewhat towards special investigations.

However, your chances of getting a Zinogre lure specifically are pretty low. Your best bet for finding him in the GL to hunt it will be to level up the Forest Region and the Coral Region a bit, as he can appear in either of those, and making general GL progress until you encounter him at random.

play with people, when someone gets a lure in MP it get shared to the whole party
so if anyone of the other 3 player gets a zinogre you will get it too

Glad I found this forum. I was having the same problem after leaving the expedition right after summoning the Zinogre (Side note, does anyone else miss it being called the Jinouga?) My thunder res was crap, so I bailed; but after returning, the lure wasn't available. Sounds like it'll be a while before that lure comes back up, but the guiding lands are fun enough without "Kick-flip Sparky Wolf" being available right off the bat, I guess.

Where is the problem you can simply play the event quests if you want any parts of him or do you need its gl material for hp augment?

sadly capcom introduced annoying mr restriction for gl, advanced players can't help beginners till they reached mr100...

it was something like 24-49;50-69; 70-99 and 100+

zinogrespawns in coral and forest, i think level 2 or 3 is needed.
in order to get zinogre lures, hunt in those areas with the required level. you should get some lures quite fast.

but don't worry, not having enough lures is commn when starting TGL, but after a while you have more than you will ever use. *looks at his 17 coral pukei pukei lures and his 20 ruiner nerg lures*
