I'm not sure what you mean by "the monster left". Do you mean either the quest timed out so you failed, or the monster literally left and you were in the area without Seething being present and it having totally left the map? (there does seem to be some translation issues too, seeing as in the ENG version, it's called "Seething Bazelgeuse" not Vulcan)
If it's the former, then that means you did indeed spend nearly an hour (50 minutes) on Seething and need to improve at the fight, if it's the latter you shouldn't have been fighting it in that environment (such as a quest where Bazel isn't the target or an Expedition).
Seething Bazel has a lot of the same weaknesses as standard Bazel:
