So against monsters that have blights that aren't negated by "Blight Negated" you can use "Blight Res Up" to boost your resistance to those blights.
For example, maybe Hydros Horn's "Blight Negated" melody negates fire blight, but doesn't negate blast blight or thunder blight. For those, you play "Blight Res Up."
But imo, play both melodies just to be safe.
"Blight Res Up" should be "Element Res Up", as it boosts all elemental resistances by 5/10.
Also, fun fact, that stacks with "Elemental Effectiveness Up" which seems to also boost all elemental resistances by 3.
"Blight" means elemental-related status debuffs. Ailment means everything that isn't element related.
So "Blight" equals fireblight, waterblight, ecetera. Ailment means stun, taint, bleed, blast, poison, paralysis, sleep, ecetera.
IIRC there is no single horn that actually negates all possible status debuffs, they either negate elemental blights or ailments.
anyway, the point is Blight Negated means 'if you are suffering from elemental debuffs, this melody will remove them' and Blight Res Up means 'your resistance to these elemental debuffs is boosted so you won't get afflicted by them as often.'
I guess the 2 melodies work on all blights.
By 10 if you do the encore.
Blight Negated negates all Elemental Blights but doesnt reduce damage from elemental attacks. It also wont prevent bleading or poison and proably wont prevent stun or paralassis.
Just the acual status ailments that have blight in the name.
Watter/Fire/Ice/Dragon/Thunder and Blast Blight.
@Djukor, I think Blast Blight counts as an ailment rather than a blight for some reason. The other blights you mentioned should be just blights, not ailments.
Blights come from elements: fire, water, ice, thunder, dragon.
so of course Blight Negated & Blight Res Up does not work against blast blight.
^ This. Despite the word "blight" being used (though brachy technically uses "blastscourge" but that's nitpicking), "blight" means elemental blights. Debuffs not linked to an Element are classed under "Ailments".
This means the horn melody All Ailments Negated will provide immunity to Blastblight/Blastscourge, along with Defense Down, Stun, Poison/Deadly Poison, Paralysis, Sleep, and Elemental Res Down.
