"True Immortality Build" nerfed?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIka8k_Pd8U

I tried this and tempered glavenus killed me, savage jho also killed me (guiding land). 2 heavy hits without divine blessing 5 activation is not uncommon. Seems to me the divine blessing 5 activation is nerfed badly?

I have the armor maxxed before the augment on armor, and only 50 armor on barroth gs (video has maxxed 95 armor). My total armor 1030 ish already.

Also, if you lack full Defense augmentations on the weapon that'd matter more than you may think it does, seeing as Defense augmentations have a seperate passive Divine Blessing style effect on top of their passive Defense boost.

Anyway, the point is that immortality builds are gimmicks, not actual strategies you can use against Tempered monsters or Savage Jho and seriously expect to work. Serious fights demand serious builds.

On the other hand, we don't have to stick to praising him and his content, we are free to call the video out for being clickbait and overselling a build which is quite bad.
Stop raging :D

I know I used language so harsh, insults so powerful one can only imagine I'm sweating at the brow, my lips trembling before I burst, shouting and tearing my clothes in the street. "He's overselling the build" is pure, white burning rage, I hope my coronaries don't burst.
Is it because I don't end my posts with a smiley face that you imagine me as the Hulk, punching strangers because I didn't like the dude saying his "incredible build" is "go afk unkillable"? Rage emoji.
I also love how you throw NHC in there, I guess anyone can say anything because there is a goofy little cartoon portraying the game unfaithfully for comedy. Of course everything ever said on YouTube is "satire", a meme we raging Neanderthals just can't get. Subscribe for more lols and don't forget to check out my Patreon wink ;)

Surely the OP is just having a good laugh reading all these comments (I really doubt he got baited into thinking this "Build" is anything but a joke) and made this post just for a laugh.
Interesting how triggered so many ppl are though about a video that is obviously meant to be a joke, I mean nobody takes videos claiming "Easy way to get infinite - Lives/Money/Items" in any game as a legit thing or without some catch, I hope... right guys?

You underestimate the stupidity of people on the internet. There is a reason why there are millions of "Free money 100%" videos for GtaOnline.

Thanks for the info. The youtuber indeed said something about separate divine blessing effects on the weapon. I guess I lack it and can't see for myself the full effect. The material to continue augmenting the barroth weapon is just ??? for me and the internat has no database of it lol

Did you remember to put the cat on vigor wasp? That makes a very big difference.

I haven't tried this one yet but his pre-iceborne immortal build (well a slightly modified variant of it) carried me through all the arch tempered monsters except Lunastra due to the bad fire resist.

Also although he's demonstrating it by not fighting to show that it works you do obviously need to be sensible and block, dodge, heal etc. Given how well his high rank version of it worked I'd say it's likely this one will work as long as you play sensibly and don't treat it like you're actually unkillable.

Yes the cat is on vigor. Didn't help that much on my test lol

If you want to run a set that will give a more comfort playing, go for free meal secret. You can do a pretty decent set with brute tigrex helm, mail and braces, Odog coil and of course garuga greaves, why it would something else.

Anyway, it's a decent comfort set but it also requires a good amount of protection decorations, and it need to be crit/protection or tenderizer/protection.
Long story short you'll end with Crit eye 7, attack boost 6, handicraft 5, health boost 3, crit boost 3, weakness exploit 3, free meal 3, divine blessing 3, and you can slot agitator and speed eating on mantles, you'll probably still have space for non-elemental boost and/or protective polish since you don't have MT with this set.

Now, it will make you invincible? Hell no. You even might still die in one hit depending what hits you. Whoever, if you are cool enough to not despair after get almost one shoted you'll have almost nearly infinite max potions/ancient potions during a hunt.

immortal against barroth or the kulu chicken
Hare+Guu! Jan 30, 2020 @ 11:39am
You're gonna need way more than 1030 defense if you expect to defend against anything. Heck I can have over 1200 with a mega armorskin + full glaive buffs, I still wouldn't just take an attack head on intentionally.

For example if you take 40 damage at 900 defense, you will take 30 damage at 1200 defense. And then 23 at 1600 defense. So if an attack is one shotting you at 900 defense. It will still 2 shot you at 1600. It doesn't seem particularly impressive since you're still dying fast, but it's still the difference between insta carting and rolling away. That's also where divine blessing comes in. It can turn 2 shots into 3+, but you shouldn't rely on it.
Shift Jan 30, 2020 @ 11:52am
The point of hyper defensive builds is to prevent one shots most of the time and increase the dps uptime by allowing you to passively regen lost health fast enough to not needing to stop and drink a potion. But it's not meant to stand still and not die, not when MR monsters can deal massive damage.
Kron Jan 30, 2020 @ 12:50pm
Lol to all these people who think the build is click bait or just bad in general. It’s a great build, you just have to put a little effort into it, keep the Tailraiders and your Palico’s uptime at maximum and continuously heal yourself and the Palico, so that you as well as them cannot get taken out. I recommend a Hunting Horn for continuous buffing of all sorts, your usual Attack/Defence XL is nice for the Palico or you can go with a Health based horn for infinite heals.

Seriously though, if you faint against basically anything with this build then Jesus Christ either this game isn’t for you or you’re purposely trying to play badly... you’re probably better off with a Lance or HBG/LBG and in Multiplayer where you can sit back and let your teammates do most ofthe work and keep the Monster away from you consistently because it seem’s you might be in need of that.
Franz Jan 30, 2020 @ 2:39pm
Overly defensive builds are bad because no matter how much stuff you stack you can't get to a point where you are able to ignore/regen more than a couple consecutive hits, unless you really know what you are doing.
Some survivability is fine, Health Boost, Guard/Guard Up, both Evade skills, it's all fine and dandy. Once you have some points in those it's going to be safer to mix in some damage skills instead because that will shorten your hunt and thus the chances you can make one mistake too many and cart. Stacking survivability hits diminishing returns (and some skills like Def Boost 7 are just mathematically inferior to others).

Sure you can complete any hunt with this "immortal build" but so you can with no armor and a joke weapon if you are good enough, that's a moot point.
If it's supposed to be a very specialized build meant to keep up a reckless offense and keep hitting until you cause a stagger/flinch/part break then it's definitely not for beginners looking for an easy time, quite the opposite.
If you have to "just keep healing yourself and the palico and tailrider" as the phenomenon above me stated then I ask, why? Are your palico and tailraider going to deal more damage than what you are not dishing out to keep them up? Where's Palico Rally if the Palico is doing the killing? Nah, this isn't "Palico build", it's "immortal build".

Anyway, just to be clear, I wasn't "triggered" by the video, if people watch his content then more power to him. I don't have beef with OP for trying the build, of course he thought it would be fun to try, no harm or shame in that. It didn't work and he came here looking for clues.
I have to admit tho, I do have a bit of a problem with kids defending anything ever said under the umbrella of "it's a joke". Where's the "obvious" joke in the video, when do we go 'ha ha funny'? If it's so clearly a joke why one of you cavemen is explaining how the build is fantastic and how to make it work?
No, listen, it's very simple: a dude made a video proposing an "INCREDIBLE immortal build (support me on Patreon)" which is neither immortal nor incredible. Oh wait, is that the joke? It's not very funny but I have to concede, it is a joke video then.
I'm a fan of 2 pieces BV Vaal Hazak. Add recovery up and recovery speed, and that works well.

For the other three armour pieces, you can mix it up with what you require for particular weapon/quest etc.
