Is MHW really the easiest?
So I've seen a few people say that world is the easiest MH game made, and although I haven't played any others, I've watched a few gameplay videos of the older games and they don't seem to be all that much different from what we got now.

Are there any veteran hunters out there that can shed some light upon this topic?

Which of these 2 spread builds do you all prefer?

Build #1 and #2 do the exact same damage per shot. #2 has crit boost 3 vs crit boost 2. But #1 has attack up 7 vs 4. The biggest tradeoff is VIT 3 and stun immunity on build #1 vs 2 extra shots in my mag.

Build #1 is far easier to build, deco wise, without mods. Build #2 requires 4 attack decos.

Build 1 imo. Ammo Up doesnt really appeal to me that much, but its definitely better against enemies that just lets you shotgun them to oblivion (Jyura, KT, Xeno). Stun Res 2 is a big waste, I know its a byproduct of the initial skills you opted for but its always Stun Res 3 or nothing.

I used the exact same Build 2 when I got Glutton. But ditched it after realizing AmmoUp is just overrated. Most monsters wont let you fire off those extra 2 shots immediately anyway. And HBG gameplay revolves around careful positioning and careful management of clipsize and reloading

MHW definitely is the easiest, but thats because of all the QOL changes stacked together. Its not the easiest because our Teo is weaker than older titles or something.

Also MHW AI is now erratic and realistic, so thats a plus on the game's difficulty. People wont be abusing turn animations anymore. Not to mention iframing attacks is close to impossible in this game without EWindow. Old habits die hard, and I always prefer iframing through them, unless its something obviously not iframeable

Tigrex in P3rd wasn't that bad. I thought Zinogre was worse. Fights were MP scaled in HP, even solo, and I remember they took around 15 minutes, and that's if you did reasonably well. Comparably, that would be like a 6 minute kill in world, which isn't terrible, and is definitely above average.

If it wasn't for monsters being MP scaled in HP, even solo, P3rd is probably easier than World.
p3rd tigrex was easier
MHFU tigrex on the other hand.....
im getting flashbacks on the land of tremor quest

As a vet to the series, it's easy. But don't let that detract you from the game at all.

Don't forget they added the superman dive, which makes it so much easier to survive in life or death situations.

The hell are people on about, I literally used the Jaggi set in MH4U and then red Khezu set, neither of which are very good sets of armor, and still was at least competent at hunting.

MH4U is NOT a hard game, not in the slightest lmao. Mount spamming was stupidly broken because monsters barely became strong against it.

The only reason MHFU and below were so hard is because the hitboxes were janky as ♥♥♥♥. Even then, spamming flash bombs was a favorite strategy be cause again, the monsters never got immunity to it.

Standing in one place to heal isn't a big deal when you get that health instantly. In this game if a monster roars while you're healing, you're down a potion and you don't get the health back because it heals over time.

I'd argue MH3U is the easiest monster hunter to date, especially with broken blast weapons from brachy. This one is DEFINATELY harder then MH3U lmao. Or do people just forget about that game?

I just see all these people acting like their "vets" for being from "MH4U" and shet, literally never see anyone talking about MH3U which makes me wonder how many of them are actually vets lmao

Also, gigginox for life man. I have a figure of him on my desk - he was one of my favorite fights.

I seriously cannot fathom as to why they decided to bring back penis dragon over the actual non-spammy, well designed one

The only thing I liked about khezu was it's armor. Gigginox was better in every regard weapon and combat wise. I REALLY hope we see gigginox again tbh.

The QoL is one of the reasons but not the primary reason. Monster hp is so low and player damage is so high, all weapons got power creeped heavily by the new attacks/tools and monster hp never compensated. Hunts in the older games would take 5-10 minutes for the most experienced players on perfect runs, meanwhile in this game they get 50 second to 2 minute run times depending on the monsters. I finish elder dragons in 3 minutes and I'm not even particularly good, in the older games they would require at least 10-20 minutes.

Many might say monster hp is "Artificial difficulty" (I wish that term would die already) but the fact of the matter is it makes you have to survive several times longer and risk running out of potions eventually if you are carelessly taking hits. You used to not be able to restock potions inside of a hunt, so if you used all your max pots and mega pots you were absolutely screwed.

The sheer amount of mechanics that they added to MHW to make it easier is staggering, it's to the point that it makes me wonder if people saying World isn't easier than other monster hunters are serious or not.

A lot of people say "Veteran players are just at a point where they're so good that they rolled over World because they were just so good" but that's simply not true. Going back to even MH4U reminded me of how babied I am in world, I take hits all the time because who cares when a hunt ends in 2 minutes, who cares when I have infinite max pots that I can always go back and grab, who cares when I have life leech, or who cares when I have rocksteady/temporal mantle. It's actually difficult triple carting a hunt, the only difficulty spike I've ever had was against Nergigante with 190 defense, the game felt like a real monster hunter at that point because ALL of his moves did 80% - 100% of my life bar, that's just what it was like in the older games. You'd enter high rank or G rank and get your crap pushed in by a Yian-Kut-Ku or a Great Jaggras if you never actually took the time to learn to counter their moveset. All the monsters were incredibly lethal no matter your gear level, wheras in world there's only really Deviljho and the elder dragons on tempered and arch tempered that feel lethal.
This. So much this.
