After the Credits
So the game after the credits is literally just fight these much harder versions of the harder versions of monsters you've already fought to grind for decorations? And maybe fight some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dlc monsters? Is that it? Because I really don't understand all those people that say the game starts for real after the credits.

That's basically it yes, and waiting for new content.

"the real game starts after blah" is just a meme.
Is the new content actually any good, because I'm not super impressed by Deviljho.
There are other monsters in HR you haven't seen before.

The tempered monsters are a psuedo G rank. You are able to fight monsters with the same health pools, however they deal increased damage. Tempered monsters are only able to be flash bombed 3 times before becoming immune for the rest of the match. Once you start fighting tempered the game becomes an RNG grind fest. Each tempered monster is usually done through investigation process. The monsters are randomly given based on prints found ( finding prints of the a tempered nergi does not mean you will its investigation as it is random). With in each of these investigations conditions are assigned much like other missions, rather than the gold silver and bronze rewards those slots are replaced with gem slots. Each mission assigned gives 1-5 of these end reward slots. You hope to get streamstones of the rarity that fits your weapon you are attempting to augment. The augment process allows you to further add effects to your weapon of choice. !0% affininity , 5 true attack, 10 defense, a single gem slot in the weapon, or 10% damage leech.

The chances of finding the streamstone you want for your weapon and rarity of the weapon is low at best, you will have some times have piles of gems from tempered elders before you get a single random streamstone, not counting that the stone is assigned a random weapon type.

People say the game starts here, because they enjoy grinding random slot machines and mistake that system for content. There is not really any content after the credits you havnt experienced already, just monsters with more damage that you have already fought. And a gamble like system of RNG
I got really bored after the credits because i realised i had run out of new content to experience, but i kept playing, and now ive come back around to enjoying hunting the same monstters because i can kill them much faster. I find it quite fun to improve my abilities with the weapons ive chosen to use, and i still have that goal of HR100 to grind towards. On the other hand i don't think i will stick around very long if end game just turns into arch tempered speedkills / jewel farming.
The more I hear about this, the more it's sounds like it's not for me, I was already pretty burnt out by the time I got to xeno, so I think getting to the end credits after 100 hours is enough for me.

It is, and once you are hr 100+ you farm the tripple elder for Hr since there is nothing left to do.

Mostly a community joke, you've already fought everything now you just grind to perfect your loadouts or go for 100% achievements

yeah that sounds terrible and i'll probably stop unless i'm still missing crowns.
You people obviously never played Monster Hunter before. There was barely a story there, just to serve as an excuse to point you to the next monster. Hunting monsters over and over is all there is to it.

Which, coincidently, is the name of the game :p
We certainly can't act like we're surprised it's all the game is about!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i'm over seeing tryhard MH veterans try to imply everybody elses opinions are somehow invalid because they didn't play previous titles. Are we not allowed to point out that just hunting the same monster repeatedly is not good design just because it's what MH has always done?
♥♥♥♥ off.

In previous titles there was at least the option of G rank, and all the tweaking and build making that came with it. High rank just doesnt offer that ability to play around with loads of slots or silly/fun builds to see what you can make viable. The arena scene is limited as well too. I used to dive into those when i was out of things to do, however there are so few arenas that doesnt give much time enjoyment.
I was in lr for 60 hours and 20 at hr until credits and I had more fun there than I am in hr. killing monsters and beating the same 4 elders is not that much fun. having several difficulties of the same monsters are not fun. I pretty much enjoyed the story and I felt like I had a purpose to fight things to gear up for the next boss they mentioned. now I'm wearing fully upgraded xeno with random af decos. I don't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about min and maxing things since you honestly don't need to touch decos to beat things. find your own fun.
I make weapons and try new ones.
the journey is almost always better than the end. that's why ppl kept telling us to rush because you'll essentially doing the same thing in lr.

oh and pickle jho is barely ran because the day he was out, everyone must've gotten his mats. the dude is piss easy anyways

Chill. He's not shooting down opinions, just stating a fact. Monster Hunter has been and is still all about Monster Hunting, and that's all.
Whether it is good or bad design IS a matter of opinion.
