PS: The FairWindCharm is actually quite a nice item that can be used as long as you like. Its worth noting that a single item is small overall. So its important but not gonna just let you waltz into high-rank ofc.
The devs wanted everything to matter but never intended to give players a free pass to avoiding the core gameplay. No shortcuts.

The 'point' to pre-order specifically is to give steam a clue as to how many licenses it needs.(google it, I can say from personal exp(during a sale tbf) they have run out before).
It also preps you for pre-load which is handy af.

Generally you can get games cheaper during preorder phase vs release phase. Such at GMG.
