too often the stunned ally is 5 miles away and im not a ranged user. its not that i cant run over and knock you out of it, but rather the monster immedietly focused over to you and i cant sprint faster than he can charge.
but lets be real for a moment here, how often does a monster hit two players, ie one dodges and the other gets knocked and stunned. now then, the player who dodged is at least a full roll away from you, you also got pushed a fair bit, and now the monster has immediately turned to the stunned target, who can possibly reach the stunned target first.
unless both get hit + knocked in the same direction its just an impossible situation, the player who got stunned in the first place just has to admit fault to begin with.
from my location, you can spam A + D a LOT faster than i can sheath and run over. if you happened to be stunned next to me, i would absolutely break you out, but you have to understand the conditions of me being next to you while you are stunned and im not.
that makes it the ranged players job to the be life safer in this instance, all i can do as melee is flash the monster.
