Grinding armor in earlie game worth it?
I just got to the second area. Should I spend my time grinding armor (ku lu ku chicken thing specifically)? Or should I keep pushing through the main missions waiting for better armor? Also, are there bennifits to having complete armor sets?

unless you notice yourself suddenly losing all your life at once, you can just get by, by making weapons->armor and repeating over and over, i only ever really met one damage spike and it didn't take long to resolve.

grind a little to just get used to grind :)
full armor sets are not great, but different armor pieces do the job in early and late game

Should you? Depends on you, if you are breezing through right now I wouldn't bother but if you are struggeling then you should. Complete armor set bennifits don't start until much later in the story so early game the answer there is no but yes in late game.

I personally skipped crafting much until I got to the point of needing it but at the point I'm at which is around Bazelguesue I'm grinding and making complete sets/toying with builds.

It's not really worth it, basically later on you'll reach a rank where you can craft the exact same looking armors with more defense, so unless you're having issues surviving missions with your current armor I'd say stick with what you have unless you want to consider fashion early game already. Certain armors will have bonuses if you have enough pieces of the set, and you can see that on the bottom right while checking any piece of any set.

its not worth grinding for armor but you should spend some time getting the early materials while getting points to upgrade the armor you have (reward for bounties)

that way you can keep whatever armor you like at a decent defense (check for useful skills like not being slowed down in water ect)
while also avoiding some annoying end game grinding to get early materials like bone M to make alternative weapons

once you get to high rank immediately dump your armor and go for whatever high rank stuff you can get. a favorite is bone armor for that attack boost

I did all of LR with un-upgraded Rathian armour, then moved on to Bone armour for HR until I made a full set of Zorah armour. HR Bone is alright if you're good at dodging for the most part, but you'd wanna change it out before Nergigante. I wish Zorah's set was better, I love the way it looks but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your elemental resist is total trash.

Defeat all the monsters available, upgrade to limit, move to next tier. Repeat. Hunter rank is locked until you complete the story, but you still earn exp towards HR. It is retroactively applied after completion.
nah, not really worth it. Maybe get a few for certain element resistances to make tough fights easier.

It's more worth doing jobs and investigations for the resource center for armor points to upgrade armor.

If you really wanna catch em all, it's much faster to go slumming when you got HR armor.

I went if i remember right with starter then pukei pukei, then rathian then rathalos then hr rathian pink rathian then azure rathalos which lasted me till end.

Build the Bone set, then Anja set, then Rathalos set, then Legiana set(or just stick with Rathalos set), until you can get HR Bone, then just use it until you can craft HR Garon set and farm your elders.

I stuck with the base leather set for majority of the low rank portion, with just a few exceptions. Odo (I used the Hornetaur set for that area due to the gas in Vale) and when I was forced to fight Rath/Diablo for the story I used a mix of Odo and Death Stench. I used the LS and Bow for the majority of it until I reached Diablo, thats when I used the dual blades for him. Now I have a huge stockpile of mats to burn through to create all the armor (for the most part) for Low HR.

This is my first Monster Hunter game so I am sure players with experience can stick to one set in Low rank until they complete the story to go High rank, depending on their play style of course.

To me, it was worth it to grind the monsters, at least the big ones. It helped me become familiar with their moves sets so when HR came, they were a breeze to solo and farm.

I'd say if you're not familair with the big monsters or this is your first or 2nd monster hunter game, farm them for the experience.

But if this isn't your first or second monster hunter game or if you're very familiar with them from prevous games, feel free to skip them.

wait till you get to hr to actually start grinding for anything unless you're having trouble other wise just upgrade through alloy armor since its the easist to farm for

Low rank = joke
High Rank = easy
Tempered = normal
Arch tempered = hard

LOL I don't even know what HR means or how to get to "it". I just built the full bone set for the resistances andleveled it up to max.
