and i mod a ton in L4D2 and dying light, never got banned for that.maybe they already lifted it?
The difference is that one is actually trying to play the game and the other is cheating in other people's games why is this even a discussion
I'm going to presume this is a hilarious joke because L4D2 is one of the most cheat-infested games I've ever seen on Steam.
Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2
as well as Dota 2 for trading scam.
A lot of people got Vac banned for using stuff . See it in real time too.
Adding a feature that can prevent problems online is only a good thing .
Modding is great but should not modify game file that can influence the online experience of other people in any way.
I played both games on launch with friends and we won basically 95% of the time. The times we lost where against other good people. Not because of them using cheats.
So no that game was not infested with cheaters. Maybe you just encountered people who where good and that had teamwork. Because my god, teamwork in that game makes you near invincible.
People got banned for using cheats in TF2. People could use idle clients without a problem and not being banned. People can max out all of their achievements and not be banned. You can mod a lot of stuff without being banned.
It's a discussion for the same reason people think that mods are affecting their single player game. I don't think this matters though, this is a single player game first then co-op. You do realize the savedata is local right? you do realize you can play offline and then save your game and then do whatever you want right?
Oh trust me, I know. Versus in L4D2 is extremely survivor-biased and just about all of the SI make very noticeable sound effects so its very common for people to frequently get wallbang headshots even if they're only half decent.
It probably wasn't infested with cheaters at launch but these days? You have no idea. Last time I played at least 50% of players were blatantly using speedhack+spinbots, spamming earrape racist voice clips over chat, spamming full-caps racist keybinds...
It's pretty unplayable now.
I do. I have a keybind dedicated to saving the game. That doesn't mean I'm never going to encounter cheaters. If you were capable of reading you might have noticed that I just want to play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ video game and don't want to constantly encounter monsters being instakilled just because I want to play some multiplayer with other hunters.
It's absolutely ludicrous to say that going into multiplayer and ruining other player's enjoyment of the game by instakilling their hunts is totally an issue.
"lol just like dont play multiplayer than xxD" is a complete cop-out excuse. If I spent over $80 glorious Australian dollars on a game so I could slay some dragons with people over the internet, I reckon I'm entitled to that.
I used It in a lot of game and never got any problem .
