Nergigante. I thought it would be harder
This entire game I have played mainly solo. Didn't think the game was that hard at all.
Everyone telling me 'ow wait till you get to nergigante!'
So I did what any smart person would do, prepared for the fight. +310 def set. half-decent weapon. Took even might and adam seeds with me. Didn't use them.. (In general I think this game is not that hard compared to other monster hunters, likely due how responsive and comfortable the controls are now)

The body slam attacks are harder-then-average to dodge, that is true.

But in the end I beat him playing defensively in 15 minutes, no carting, 5 mega potions and 3 or 4 health boosters.

For anyone struggeling out there. He is really not impossible, maybe take a moment and see if you are prepared enough. I always try to get high defense to give me breathing space and error-correction possibility (meaning not being one shotted).
Also I think he might be easier solo due to his jumping habits to close the distance.

Kadachi strikebow, legiana set, fortification charm (was for just in case). Cat had zorah set and plunderblade (MOAR LOOT). Ow yes I use the armor and attack charm in inventory too.

Anyone else thought he would be harder?

ow yes, I did him solo

Hes easy solo you mainly just need to avoid his One Hit KO move and thats it

For the prepared hunter, he is def do-able first try. Nerg is difficult to many newcomers because he punishes bad habits (which most peeps have due to pre-HR easymode).

I soloed him too with bow. The only hard monster for me was Teostra because of that FPS drop.

They must have been truly bad if people keep saying this, since they are still rather...lacking to say the least in Monster Hunter World.

As for Nergi, well he's the only monster that made me fail a quest due to fainting (atleast untill I stopped playing fully serious, anyway). Granted part of that was due to lag spikes during the fight, but still.

As a melee without a shield there's a ways more dangerous moves to watch out for, so I certainly didnt think he was easy.

That said, from what people have mentioned it seems bows and shield users have the game much easier. So if your looking for a challenge there's probably better weapon options.

This, big time this. You did more than what most would by actually coming prepared the first time, instead of just running in with 89 armor getting blasted, then raging out on forums. Good on you mate, enjoy the investigation farms and decoration farming! (I'd recommend getting the guild cross set from the arena for better chances of higher rarity weystones for good decorations before you start farming them btw :) )

Yeah. I dunno. I suspect complaints are coming from people that are not using half the resources available to them. Farming armor specifically good for a given fight. Learning weapon mechanics. Properly using consumables, gadgets, and food buffs. Choosing traits. Good decoration choices. Heck, even playing defensively. Even Palico skills can make a huge difference.

I don't feel like there is a single MHW mechanic I don't want to be using all the time. The consumables in particular are just amazing.

I paused at Diabolos, Nergigante, and Tempered Bezelgeuses, and those only long enough to farm new sets or upgrade. I don't think I've failed a story assignment more than twice. Learn the mechanics, farm, and utilize consumables.

I completely agree. Taking time to get new sets. Use the gadgets appropriatly and use the food buffs (plus max potions. Chefs choice just for the health boost is not that good. Go for skills and def or att L. You can max health using nutrients, max potions)
Too many people don't even know there is a kitchen in game xD

No doubt the, the ease of saving all kinds of item and equipment presets easily and naming them, being able to swap to them in a timely fashion. And never dealing with loading screens anymore. 10/10

Or just go in totally unprepare and smack it till it ded. I've been smacking the thing ded for more than 20 times on the PS4 and prepare for it every time is a drag.
