They must have been truly bad if people keep saying this, since they are still rather...lacking to say the least in Monster Hunter World.
As for Nergi, well he's the only monster that made me fail a quest due to fainting (atleast untill I stopped playing fully serious, anyway). Granted part of that was due to lag spikes during the fight, but still.
As a melee without a shield there's a ways more dangerous moves to watch out for, so I certainly didnt think he was easy.
That said, from what people have mentioned it seems bows and shield users have the game much easier. So if your looking for a challenge there's probably better weapon options.
I don't feel like there is a single MHW mechanic I don't want to be using all the time. The consumables in particular are just amazing.
I paused at Diabolos, Nergigante, and Tempered Bezelgeuses, and those only long enough to farm new sets or upgrade. I don't think I've failed a story assignment more than twice. Learn the mechanics, farm, and utilize consumables.
Too many people don't even know there is a kitchen in game xD
And indeed. Prepare is key. (And thank the lord for all the QoL improvements they made in managing your preparation compared to other MH games xD )
