best greatswords to use for low rank to high rank
Hi All,

I've been having fun using greatswords with the massive damage it could do but I'm wondering what upgrade of greatswords should I am for since there's alot to pick from.

Preferrably a list for low rank to high rank.

Thanks, happy hunting~

Probably the most reliable early-game GS is the Flammenzahn, which deals heaps more damage than anything comparable for awhile; spec into Magda Potestas when it becomes available, as it readily breaks the 1k raw barrier. You can either run that or Flammenzahn+ until you finish your endgame GS, whatever flavor of Nonelemental GS you prefer.

Dont get confused about the big numbers the greatsword does, in the time you do a 100 hit, a sns user did multiple 20 hits which are probably at the same if not higher damage :D

i would go with the steel one, it gives you better sharpness than the bone ones.

Pretty much just Water and Lightning. Until you get to end game. My personal favorite at the end of the story is the Vaal Hazak one. 2 points of Handicraft will put it into white shapness (protective pollish will help keep it there) and it'll just destroy absolutely everything. Pretty much the only one I use now.

I find myself highly comfortable with Nergal Judicator, Lightning Punisher and Jagras Hacker.

crit draw does that much if not more just on an uncharged draw slash, you have a fair point about high damage!=high dps, but the reality is a lot more nuanced

From low rank to high rank, grab Jagras Sword. It's the staple sword that most good greatsword players use until a certain event one comes out. You can, however, use Nergigante's Greatsword when you unlock it.

The true value of Jagras greatsword comes from when you get an "Elementless" jewel. At that point, it's the strongest raw greatsword.

i know that =) im just trying to tell him that the gs is not as op as everyone thinks, because you have to be consistent with it and really know the monsters to output alot :P

i see alot of people playing it and then they hit only every 30 secs or every minute not even charged :P you got to really know what youre doing to keep the dps wth it up. but apart from that, super fun and rewarding weapon !

Jagras GS holds the record for most powerful hit, ever, at least before Wyvern Ignition. G.Jagras can be farmed easily in about a minute or two. Other high end GS can be good such as Leviathan's Fury.

So why the Jagras Hacker over Giant Jawblade? The slot?

Sharpness and slot(s) + i don't remember how many times Jawblade can be augmented but Jagras can be augmented 3 times; Jagras takes the crown.

Ahh, I didnt take augments into account. yeah that makes sense.
Still, its super ugly imo -.-

he said happy hunting but he only cares about '' MUH DPS '' numbers
dude monster hunter is about having fun while hunting damage numbers are just minor things
you tried so hard to not die also the same time hitting the monster that is enough contribution for every hunt

While going through the story I found pukei's GS to be the best. A good combination of sharpness, damage, and easy to make. Similar to the tobi LS in that regard. At end game the situtation gets more complex based on jewels and streamstones you get.

What's wrong with high dps? I play solo and it would bore me to death if i do more-hits-less-damage than less-hit-high-damage.

happy hunting

Vaal GS is great if you have the right build for it.

i thought happy is having great time hunting with others withou caring about perfection or anything else
