Reduce my pc's cpu temp
Sometimes get to about 87 celcius, im using a i7-8700k and for gpu its a 1080ti, both around the same temp after playing this game for about 30-70 minutes. How can i reduce the tempterature?

Cooling solutions (assuming you don't have one).

im considering getting a better liquid cooling, but im wondering if i can do anything ingame wise (setting wise) to help

Make sure it's clean, make sure fans are properly aligned for optmimal intake and outtake of air, fo that still is not enough might want to look into better thermal paste for the CPU or even a better fan if you still using the stock one.

It doesnt really happen for any other game except for this and fortnite (on max settings) and pubg(ultra), so im wondering before i go inside the pc if i can do anything game wise

I have the same setup and my temps max out at around 70ºC and I even delidded my cpu and replaced the TIM with liquid metal. I only use a corsair h105 for my cpu cooler though. I think we just need to get a better cooling solution honestly because I'd probably have the same temps as you're having if I didn't delid

Game is just CPU intensive afaik, probaly due the bad optmization, there might settings you can lower, but mine sits at a steady 40~50C° with all maxed minis AA and whatever it was the fog thing that tanks FPS.

Hm, i used geforce experience, and reduced my quality bar from 100% to about 50-60% i hope that helps

You can lower the settings to reduce the strain, but I'm not entirely sure how the game handles this. Still, you're using an 8th-gen CPU so investing on an after-market cooling solution is a must, whether gaming or not. I'm using the same setup and I never reached 65 C° with an AIO cooler and fans.

Max temp of 100c. 87c should be fine.

General ideas: Aside from cleaning the fans/heatsink, you can always get a new fan (if using stock) or better fan (depending on the one you currently use). There is also water cooling (if you don't already have it).

thanks, i just want to make sure i wont damage my components or anything. Im using the stock cooler that came with the pc, a 120mm liquid cooling unit

You wwon't damage your components. They are designed to dial back if things gets too spicy. You will notice a slow down in game, frames etc will start to suffer and if that happens and the temps still remain high, then the next couple of steps is the computer shutting down to prevent hardware failure. High temps aren't something you need to too much concern yourself with, but they are preventable by keeping systems cleaned properly. Only reason I am saying this? I had similar issues a while back and was told this, so figured I'd pass it along =P.

jesus i have a i7 8700k oced and my temps do not go past 65c have not delidded or nothing also using air cooler

As mentioned above, CPUs are designed to dial back if they're getting too hot, or at worst shut off your computer if the temperatures are getting to the point where your CPU would get damaged.

The only thing to actually worry about is if there's something wrong with your CPUs temperature kill-switch. I have a 4790K (infamously hot Devil's Canyon architecture) and it sits at 87/88 for most of my play sessions and it doesn't really concern me all that much.

If you've been using the system for awhile, don't forget to dust it with compressed air or a (at a safe level) air compressor. My GPU runs 10c cooler after I clean the radiator.
