how to instal dlc?
do i have to go into the store and individually select every free dlc to have them?

Claiming the DLC causes both Steam to launch the game, and the DLC to be bound to your account.

In other words, it does two separate actions. Launching the game isn't needed, it's just Steam being annoying.
If you hit Esc quickly enough you can stop the game from launching, and yes, you'll have the DLC as a result.

Note that the store doesn't update whether or not you have it for a while but if you look at the DLC part of the game in your library you should see it as active.
Nothing needs to be downloaded to get the stuff in the game, it's already there. Having the DLC tied to your account is all that is needed to unlock them.

Yes
thats just ridiculous. if its free it should just be included in an update. now i have to go back and forth from the store several dozen times just to unlock some new gestures.

Just claim those DLC's, then download it, Once you claimed everything, u launch ur MHW.
dosent work that way. you have to launch the game to "claim" them. hell, ive been downloading the HD texture pack for 8 hours now and its been at 90% and 0 bytes the entire time.
everytime i try to download the dlc it lanches the game and dosent download anything. if im already in game it switches focus to the game and does nothing else.

I hope this can help. If you right-click on the game and go to "properties" then go over to "DLC" you can view a list of DLC that Steam thinks you have claimed. This helped me a lot with another game. Still working on the process in Monster Hunter, not optimal and pressing escape isn't helping.

He thinks the answer wasn't what the OP was asking for and is trying. Don't be too hasty to chastise someone who is trying to help... and you just renecrode the necro of the dead thread by trying to tell him not to necro it. Me, I think, you think too highly of yourself and needed to be put down a peg so you wont do this again anywhere soon to someone else and then we lose another potential helpful person just to stroke your ego. I'm hoping you will come out of this knowing your full of yourself and will watch yourself from now on, but if your really full of yourself, you'll take this as an insult rather than a lesson that needs to be learned and resent it like a petulant child and do your best NOT to learn from it. I guess god will only know.
