How much playtime could I get from this?
I got the game last night, it's my first MH and I'm quite enjoying it, but I've read somewhere that there's not much content, which got me worried...How much content is there really? How many hours could I get from the game?

If you are just going for the end screen then like 15 - 20 hours maybe depending on if you farm for armor. If you REALLY want to play the game, which begins after the end screen then im on almost 300 hours and still like the game.
This question is really hard to answer since we don't know you, give potential helpers more information about you:

a) Do you like grinding ?
b) Are you a completionist ?
c) Do you want to mind max your gear ?
d) Did you buy the game just for the "story" ?

and so on ...

If there's "not that much content" in MHW then I'm not sure what "much content" means. I have 1300 hours in the game. There is plenty of content.

The idea that there isn't a lot of content is absurd. Maybe if you approached the game in a way where beating every monster 1 time is enough for you to consider the game completed, but that isn't how the game is designed. Between grinding for gear, mastering the fights and mastering the various weapons the only limiting factor is when you are satisfied with what you've accomplished. Personally, I've got 1500 out of this game and still play regularly.

Looking at several hundreds of hours assuming you want to get most if not all decorations, the best weapons and armor sets fully upgraded and augmented.

a) Yes
b) Depends on the game
c) Explain please
d) Don't really care about the story

Sounds like I shouldn't worry at all! Thanks. I'm not one for mastering the game, but I usually enjoy grinding.

I believe he meant min-max, the game comes in low rank monsters, and high rank monsters for story, then once you finish that you can start to fight tempered monsters which drops skillgems, that you can use for making various gear builds, so if you want a perfect build you need to keep trying to get the perfect combination of skill gems which is based on RNG.

I stopped playing back when tempered was the highest, and i got 120 hours out of the game, you need to enjoy the game for the fights, and the skills, not the story, although they do regular events with various rewards so there is generally always reason to log back in.

you could finish the story and try almost everything once in like 20-40 hours

you could play it for 1700 hours and still feel like there is more ;p

Huh...Interesting! And slightly confusing lol.
If I'll get a 100+ hours for the price, I'm happy.

As a general rule of Monster Hunter games. Expect to put in a minimum of 100 hours.
