Hello everyone, for everyone who is awaiting a translated version of the game, I would like to open a survey : what has to be non-translated? Would it be weapons names? armors? foes? spells? skills? I'm awaiting your replies

I don't understand what "what has to be non-translated" means. Clearly everything should be translated?

Some names stay in french (not the description), for example :

Items :
"Renaissance " - " Rebirth "
"Orbe démoniaque " - " Demonic orb"

Area :
"Mine de la succube " - "Mine of succubus "
"Château enneigé" - "Snow Castle "

Monster's :
"Chevalier " - " Knight "
"N'Orz La faucheuse " - " N'Orz the reaper "

Spells :
"Acharnement " - "determination"
"Drain de mana " - " Mana drain "
(Spells like thunder , fire stay in english)

@Imban : so far, the game exists in french only and the creator of the game is willing to translate the text, he is wondering what shall stay in french

Everyting thats in french should be translated and if its a name of a character or a place keep the original, unless its too much french in it atleast for the name of the place. So i say mix and match with english and french and see what looks and feels right.

I'd be fine with any sort of translation. I'm going to play it in French until I get stuck in the meantime. Thanks for the update on the translation situation.

what I see in french : town + boss names, ultimate weapon and/or equipment names, a few skill names (mainly the strongest ones)

I'd say translate everything but with a French touch. Some character names, skill names, etc, can stay French, as long as the dialogue, descriptions, and menus are in English.

Many people who speak Enlish in Europe might understand some romance languages or French to understand the French names, but here in America very few people are bilingual, even knowing enough of other languages to understand the etymological roots of our own American English. I think your sales will be better if you translate everything, if you seek an American market.

I grew up close to French Canada and learned continental French in school, and Quebecois from my friends, and know a couple other languages enough to read with a lexicon. But this is really unusual, and being bilingual/multi-lingual/polyglot/mondiale is actually discouraged in some conservative segments of the culture here, sadly.

Just to let you know, this game's name should be overhauled in translation. To an English speaker, it comes across as "Final Fantasy" + 'Bravely Default" mashup.

I have start this game in 2011 for fun , before Bravely défault .... but for Final i love all game from Square Enix so... xD
But Bravely is for "Bravoure "its Nice in french

I think all those things should be translated, only the Character-Names should stay what they are, but I would like to know, what I am fighting ;)

i downloaded it expecting it to be translated and now i say to myself, oh no, now i must go learn French, this game is a lot harder than i thought
