How to play the game without EAC?

My game keeps freezing every 5 bloody minutes now (And stays frozen for ten minutes). I've narrowed it down, EAC is causing it. I need this GONE if I want to play the game anymore.

Do not tell me to use -NoEAC in a shortcut, or a launcher, or steam options. It doesn't work. No, playing in offline mode doesn't do jack either, EAC is still starting up, which is causing the problems.

I want to launch the game, by itself, without EAC trying to launch with it. If possible I want to remove EAC altogether. How do I do this?

Windows log files mostly, but considering EACs history its hardly surprising. Not going into the details.

I added this string to the launch parameters of Steam: "cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%" -NoEAC".

Well a cmd window did open, but EAC still started regardless.

But are you still crashing? I haven't read the source thread through myself, but I think the goal is to avert the crash rather than avert EAC.

Problem wasn't crashing. It was freezing. It would freeze for around 10 minutes or so, though that may as well be a crash at that point...

The odd thing is it rarely happens in the tactical layer. Mostly it happens whenever switching the interface in the strategic layer. IE pulling up the shipyard menu, or the save menu for example.

Did you try the fixes for the CPU crash issues that is pinned in the Technical Support Forum? Maybe it is not EAC that is causing it.

I don't use 9th or 11th gen processor. Still tried the fix anyway, and no it did not do anything.

Search the internet for solutions to disable EAC in the game. There is a modified .exe floating around that will launch the game totally without EAC. I had the same problem as you, even with switches EAC would continue launching. You can test it by trying to do a search for a value with CheatEngine. If you search for a value and nothing shows up, that means EAC is still obfuscating the data. I do not know why some people seem to have luck with the switch, and others don't. This unpredictable behavior qualifies EAC as malware -.-

The file is available as a download from the WeMod website, halfway down the page describing the process of replacing the .exe
