Anyway to save boats brought back to base?
Put out flames, left pilot at hospital, took damaged boat back to my construction harbor - is it just dead in the water, clogging my port, or is there a way to dismantle / salvage the boat or fix it at the bench?

It's dead. It should despawn eventually.

I wish this was a feature, let us tow them back and salvage them etc.

One of those weird decisions, again, that post 1.0 I don't necessarily like as far as career mode stuff goes. Pre- 1.0 release, we would be able to tow NPC / random boats back to harbor and salvage them for money/parts as I recall. Now, you can look at them and admire them for their voxelness.
