My friends can't load workshop maps

When I host the game with workshop maps, my friend can't load map.
In lobby, his game gets stuck on "Loading Custom Map" with the loading icon spinning forever side by side his name.
However, in case of preset maps, he can load and play without problems.

What is the cause of this problem?
I can play same workshop maps in solo, so I think there is no problem on the map side.

It's because he doesn't have that specific map and it has to be downloaded for him. All players have default maps so it's not a problem there. Downloading takes more time than loading from disk and there's nothing to be done here, except maybe adding a progress bar.

He shouldn't have to subscribe to the map himself but if that worked then sounds like it's good.

However when this happens to me, I just restart the game and it works fine. Sometimes I don't even have to do that, just reload the lobby

Yeah, but if you don't have the map, it still has to be downloaded, either from game host or from the workshop. It takes more time to download stuff than to read it from the disk.

You just have to wait and be patient, is what I'm saying,

I did some cleanup in my hard drive and solved the problem. I didn't have enough space in my disk
