Controller support?
This looks like it might be a fun couch co-op game, but can you use controller, and more specifically, multiple controllers to play local multiplayer?

Hey,

There is partial controller support (if activated in the options) which allows playing with a controller but you can't navigate the menu yet. That will be possible someday in the future.
I haven't tested the game with multiple controllers so I can't give you an exact answer but there is no dedicated multi-controller feature for each player at the moment.

Tried the controller out today with my girlfriend and everything seems to work with the controller except the putter won't make contact with the ball when I swing haha. If that were to be fixed, it would be perfect! hoping they get it working soon. LOVE THIS GAME

Hey,

If you have "alternative shooting (controller)" activated in the option the putting is distance based and you have to use the right trigger to shoot the ball, there is no physics contact with the controller for now. :)

Is there a button mapping diagram for the controller? I can't seem to figure out how to use the free cam on the controller

I have old wii controller be awesome to have support for it and ability to back spin and wind as factor to decide on your shot.

In theory it is possible to use a wii mote with GolfIt!. There is a steam group for wii mote on PC:

Not really what you were looking for, I suppose. And not guaranteed to work with the UE4-engine.

There are plugins for UE4 to support the wii mote. They need to be added to the source code of the game and I don't know how much work and ressources this will take and how well this would work in the end. But Jonas is working on the implementation of VR at the moment, which includes adding usage of VR controllers. Maybe as a byproduct, you can get wii mote integration too. And button mapping. But that is only a guess too.

And finally, have you tried to play around with controller configuration (Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings)?

Too bad. Was looking forward to this one. Having to pass a single controller around sucks. I'll pass on this one unless this is implemented. Hopefully someone will come along and develop a golf game with a TRUE local multiplayer experience where each player sitting on the couch can use his/her own controller. I'm surprised this is not the case. Wow.
