PS5 controller not working

Like the title says, every time I launch the game with my PS5 controller plugged in using a cable, the game doesn't detect it at all even though steam see's it fine. Any help?

1. A method, that has helped many others with similar problem (credits to dcy665):
In game, press Ctrl-Alt-Del
Wait until for Task Manager window to pop up
Cancel out of Task Manager

2. Try to play in Big Picture mode

3. Try to experiment a little with steam controller settings, or just reset them (Steam > Settings > Controller )

Try these methods, and then write here if it helped. Good luck!

So I think and this is just preliminary on my part, because it wasn't working before. But maybe try getting a secondary controller? One that your computer hasn't touched? Steam wasn't even registering mine, and at this same time I'm reinstalling the game.
DO NOT OPEN THE STEAM/CONTROLLER WINDOW IN GAME
That much I learned. So it is either that me plugging in another controller or me reinstalling the game. The two download fixes wouldn't allow my game to reopen so that didn't work for me.
So I'll see if the reinstall worked as now at least steam is recognizing my controller now. It wasn't before. Its at almost 50% at the time of writing. I'll get back to you.

Alright reinstalling or plugging in another controller worked. I'd learn more towards the reinstall.
