wtf is wrong with black knight greataxe?

black knight greataxe - 582 attack rating while one-handed
black knight halberd - 492 attack rating while one-handed
both should have the same damage type (slash) with r1 attack
halberd does 150-200 more damage with r1 thand axe does

What even are your stats then if you are getting no damage? BKGA is a strength weapon so it benefits greatly the higher your strength is.

never mind that DPS is almost completely useless in a game like Dark Souls where you don't get multiple seconds of getting damage "in".

Then use those other weapons I guess. BKGA is a strength weapon, so you'll get much more AR when you two hand it. You also keep comparing it to the BKH, which essentially makes the game easy mode if you get it.

Its actual r1 attack output is close to claymore, but claymore is 3x lighter and has much lower stat reqs. also claymore has the same r1 moveset

But you're comparing a greatsword to a greataxe, they're two different categories of weapons entirely. Also, the Claymore is pretty muchly a meta weapon while pretty muchly none of the BK weapons would be considered as such. Yes, the Claymore is good, it's pretty muchly everyone's go-to weapon when choosing a GS due to the move set, speed, AR, range, and buffability.

Lets be honest here: the only reason you would use the BK weapons at all is for the looks. I'm on a NG+ run right now and I'm using the full BK armor set + BK Shield + BKS. There are better greatswords (Claymore), better armor, and better shields for both PVE and PVP, but I'm doing it for the Fashion Souls.
