Game freezing every 5 minutes (exactly!)
I am having some weird problem when playing Dota 2.
Beggining from the first minutes and going on happening every 5 minutes (ex: 2:39, 7:29, 12:39, 17:39 and on) the game freezes for 1-2 sec and then go back to normal.
>My specs are good to play (the problem started few weeks ago, before that I was playing normally).
>Playing on wireless but my other computer has no issues playing Dota 2.
>Installed yesterday the Comodo firewall to monitor the internet connections and found nothing happening during the freezes.
>I`m not sure, but since it is exactly 5 minutes between the freezes I don`t think it is hardware problem.

Anyone has any idea what it could be? I`m playing with a chronomether by my side but it`s getting anoying.

>Wifi
>Firewall

Your 2 problems here. Play it through a LAN/ Fibre Optic land cable. Disable dat firewall or put dota2 to its exceptions list. If that still don't work, use the "verify game cache" function in Steam

The firewall was installed because of this problem.
I don't think it is wifi since it only happens on this computer. My brother`s laptop works fine. But I will try playing on LAN anyway.

Nope. Not at least for me.
A guy with the same problem (http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=57644) solved it by using an ethernet cable directly to the router.

My PC specs:
"I have windows 7, antivirus Kaspersky (always off during games),
NVidia Geforce GTS 250, 4 MB ram DDR2, CPU Intel Core Quad Q8200
and ISP is GVT. "
Mine internet adapter is "D-Link DWA-525 Wireless N 150 Desktop Adapter"

Please tell me if you find something.

I switched to cable instead of wireless and it solved the problem. It remains for wireless connection, unfortunately. If you find out something please tell me.

It's because Wireless. If you find a solution pls share.

Same PC on another network doesn't do so. But on wifi, lags every 5 min!

Indeed. I found out that Steam is writting a localconfig file in userdata every minute. It uses about 120,000,000 b/s and can be seen in resource monitor.

I've got similar problem, games freeze for second every 5 mins exactly. And I fixed it by turning off the in-game FPS counter.
