Stuttering when a match begins?
Ever since the first blood update while not severe I've noticed when loading inside the map and spawning for the first time the game freezes for a few seconds sort of like things are struggling to load. Afterwards the match continues like normal. Has anyone else noticed this at all or would this just be a problem on my end?

E: There's also stuttering within the match when clickin on another hero across the map. Doing this in replays will occasionally crash the replay with this message.

I've checked the dev forums for dota and this is a common problem yet has no solution.

I wouldn't doubt it's the source engine but I'm curious to know if this is affecting more players after the update. Regardless I'll probably defrag to be sure.

same to me and my friends, we all got this issue

The stuttering is even worse when watching a replay. Pretty sure something in the update caused it but I won't hold my breath.

I always had this issue. When the game starts (when spawning) it freezes and the sound loops for a few seconds, then everything continues without any problem.

I got this too since I started play DOTA2 (1 year ago) but after latest patch its even worse with graphics bug...

That's been going on since before the update. I'm no programmer, but maybe the game tries to load everything at once instead of cycling through heroes/store/towers/terrain, and the result messes with it for a couple seconds. Annoying, but since the games have a timer before it starts and we can all shop and get into positions before it starts it's not exactly a high-priority issue.

While I'm used to a bit of stuttering when everyone loads onto the map, it seems to have gotten worse since the update. It used to be just a couple seconds, yet after the patch I get a full on freeze for about 3-4 seconds, followed by about the same amount of cutting out and stuttering.

Before the update, I had about a 1 second pause, then everything went to normal. Now, after this update, once I press play and spawn in, it freezes then I get disconnected saying "Timed out." But I then reconnect and everything is normal. I tried to lower all my settings to the lowest possible but it still gets stuck. I hope I'm not the only one.

Mine just Lag/Frame drop after my hero spawn from picking. I can't do anything buy items/chat or even pause. makes me lane late. 1 thing is for sure its not on our end. Ever since the First Blood patch some sort of loading stuffs his happening

Same issue after a recent patch. DOTA2 is installed on a SSD, none of the friends I regularly play with seem to have the issue. After the stutter the game runs fine with 90+ fps, I've no idea what it's doing that could cause such a huge performance difference. :pandastunned:

This has always been there for me. When the heros load at beginning game, it stutters for 2 seconds and then its all good for the rest of the game.

Same issue, and even worse. I had to wait around 1 minute for the game to be back to normal again. I've never experienced this issue before the update.

turn networking to low in settings. worked for me

I've read that it may be due to the dota 2 guides and unsubscribing somewhat helps. Another few suggestions I've seen is cl_forcepreload 1 and as above lowering network settings now.

Will test a few of these.
