Viper to carry, venomancer to slow/support. Gale is probably one of the strongest early game slows. His orb stacks with orb of venom too, unlike viper's orb. If you random and get boots it's usually first blood on non-stunners. Viper is more viable for late game carry. Viper is 53.2% winrate compared to venomancer's 51.96% according to dotabuff.

Viper is a better carry and Veno is a better support...Just pick them according to the roles needed in your team...

Veno can be used but its not as effective as a carry compared to viper...You will be wasting its support potential too...

I find that it's a hella lot easy to do monster kills in pubs with veno coz pubs jsut don't know how to counter it.

I think viper agility gain is more as you lvl him, and his auto attack becomes more powerful, plus he has more dmg potential overall, and solo kill potential

the fact that a hero is or isnt to be considered a carry depends on how its stats scale with leveling and how its abilities sync with physical damage output (right-click and so) in late-game.

In comparision to other heroes. He should not be used as carry. Althoug there might be someone using him as one, but it is situational.

He is better of as support.

i prefer Viper because of slow and magical resistance + higher single target dmg

I'd pick Venomancer. A well placed skill from him will affect the entire team and not to mention it actually does A LOT of damage in the end. If you add a Nova onto them as well you'll make their HP drop like a rock.

Specially if you got Scepter. I've gotten first blood vs bots pretty quickly with this hero. Though I tend to skip Scepter because I like having higher damage on him, so I can rip away HP so they get to a point where I can just ditch enemies and let them die from poison damage.

Get Mana boots and you'll make the enemies on the same lane hate you. They won't like going near you because they'll start losing a lot of HP and then when their life is low enough a single spell will get rid of them.

Viper has no adversary once he get's the proper items, his ulti goes through magic immun making melee heroes useless even with bkb, adding a scepter in his build will make his ulti 12 sec cd with a huge range making escapes basically impossible. Strong disable can get to him.
Venomancer combined with a good carry can dominate the lane as support,. you can build him as a carry but is not that good.
Both are good heroes but different roles.
